Miller and Condon stoking rumors on Fran leaving after the season

Pretty shitty thing for Connor to be doing while still playing for a program he has refused to leave for 6 years....he would have hardly seen the floor on many power 5 teams. I'm sure he's expecting an overwhelming send off on Sunday and I hope he gets a solid one but I'm guessing he will bitch on social media and his podcast even more about the Iowa fans than he already has if it doesn't happen. Won't miss his attention whoring bullshit whether Fran leaves or not
Well Cmac is gone for sure but I'd like his Dad to stick around. Cmac will be a grad assistant somewhere else regardless.

A lot of really stupid takes in this thread. I’m no fan of nepotism. The Brian Ferentz stuff is ridiculous. But Connor would get plenty of minutes for almost every team in the country. Some of you think we would be Kansas if Fran just benched Connor. In truth, we lost to Eastern frickin Illinois when he was injured. You think that’s a coincidence?

So the list would be:
Nate Oats
Matt Painter
Bill Self
Mick Cronin
Scott Drew
Texas Interim (can't remember his name)
Tommy Loyd
Jerome Teng
Shaka Smart
Rick Barnes
Dan Hurley
Sean Miller
Mike Woodson
Tony Bennett
Jim Larranaga
Jamie Dixon
Greg McDermott
TJ Otzleberger
Chris Collins
John Calipari
Kevin Willard
Jon Scheyer
Buzz Williams
Tom Izzo
Fran McCaffery
Brad Underwood
Eric Musselman
Dennis Gates
Ed Cooley

I think you can reasonably cross about half these names off the list of possibilities as well as to who Norlander might be referring to.
Thanks for narrowing that down.

I would bet that Fran stays until Jack is done with college. Which if he is a 4 year player would be through 2029.
72 is the new 65. Fran is too old for a new hire. He's got maybe seven seasons left in him. Given his red faced rages and his increasing obesity (sucks to get old) he could have a heart attack at any time. Not being facetious, those are the kinds of things that happen unexpectedly to old people. Fran is now an old person.

I think that Fran has an idea on when he wants to quit coaching, and it isn't feet first on a gurney being rolled out of CHA. He seems like a guy who could walk away from coaching with no regrets. I can see him walking away from basketball period minus watching Connor coach somewhere, or Jack somewhere. There hasn't been much chatter around town about Jack being set on playing at Iowa.

Think Bigger....

its Rick Pitino...he is dying for one more big shot. He has been a good boy at Iona.
Well, the rules have changed. But, Pitino is a dirt bag. Once a dirt bag, always a dirt bag.

You do remember that when the Illinois coach was asked which Big Ten player from another team he would want, he said Connor. Guess the coaches evaluate talent better than you do.

Gosh, with the love pouring down from fans like you, what on earth could CMac complain about...

Fran wasn't even on most of the lists I saw.

For some reason Chris Holtman was a top pick. Lol. Ok.

Keep clinging asshat. It was only a 6 minute difference at the time and is still pathetically close when considering one is actually good and one isn't. Sorry I've been tough on your boy crush karen.
I will give you the last word tonight princess. Hope Conner signs your poster mommy got you.
You're butthurt about something but to keep saying Connor isn't valuable is just dumb. Obviously you have an agenda. You don't like Connor, we get it, so you can stop posting garbage now.

I saw when Breen announced his retirement I paused for a second at the time thinking about Fran and brushed it aside as well. However lots of noise here from national peeps and then the small tells mentioned with Jobo and Cmac there seems to be something here.
I don’t have any information, but I know this.

JBo and Cmac absolutely love fvcking with people on social media. I wouldn’t make much of that part.

Good point there as well. It was talked about quite a bit this morning on the show and then Kakert not really shooting it down so thought I'd share.

While the dog and I rarely see eye to eye on much he’s 100% spot on. Do you really think one of the most high profile colleges in the entire country would hire a guy of Frans age? I’m concerned about the mental health of some of you on here. Maybe Fran does want the job. Is Notre Dame going to hire a guy for maybe 5-7 years? The answer is no. They’re going to look for an up and coming guy. Which they should.

Not sure anyone would touch Oats right now. JMO

If you are ND do you seriously think about a 63 year old coach? I highly doubt it.

At 63 with the sideline antics and middle of the big ten results for the last how many years, I'm not sure why he gets so much talk. I wouldn't think his game day coaching persona would fit in a catholic school.
