Shoulder wrap coming apart, as they all do.

Not much action.

Need one takedown for the major, to state the obvious.

O takes a low double shot. Kem locks around the body. On his side. Gets his hips down. Time running out.

184: Assad vs. Skillings

1st period:

Another unimpressive, no-name opponent from the Gophs. Solid work, MN.

Tying up. Not for long. Abe with a huge snap to a quick low double for 2. 2-0, Abe. OOB.

Back to center.

Skillings up and out. 2-1. RT :20.

Hand fighting in the center. Skillings with a half shot.

Skillings with hands to the face -- his best move of the match.

1:25 left.

Hand fighting. Not much action.

Abe shoots and misses.

:55 left.

Abe shoots a head-outside single to the left. Reaching for the other foot. Finishes. 4-1.

Skilling up and out. 4-2. RT :26.

2nd period:

Skillings starts on bottom. To his feet quickly. Escapes. 4-3, Abe. RT :39.

Hand fighting. Not much action.

Abe with a few half shots.

Skillings doing almost nothing.

Abe with another nice low shot. Finishes fast. 6-3. Riding him out. :10 left.

Skillings to his feet but Abe returns him.

Period ends. 6-3, Abe. RT 1:19.
 
3rd period:

Abe starts on bottom. Up and out quick. 7-3.

Abe takes him down again. 9-3.

Skillings escapes. 9-4.

Nice high crotch by Abe. Working to finish. Gets it. 11-4.

Rides him out for the major. Couple of strong mat returns.

Match ends. Abe with the major, 12-4.

1st period:

Hand fighting.

Warner getting active. Bit of a scramble. Nice snap. Foy in on his legs but Warner clears, goes around for 2. 2-0.

Foy close to a reversal but Warner clears, gives up the escape. 2-1.

Not much action.

Tying up. Now in a non-tie.

Still not much action.

Warner with a nice high crotch but doesn't finish. Back in right away to the other side, lifts the leg, and trips him down for 2. 4-1. Rides him out. RT: 1:00.
 
3rd period:

Warner starts on bottom.

On his base but not escaping. Creeps toward the edge. OOB.

Back to center.

1:33 left.

Foy just hanging out. Warner to his feet. Foy forces him OOB.

Back to center.

1:17 left.

Warner sits out and finally escapes. 5-2, Warner. RT :22.

Foy with his first shot of the match, a low double. Finishes fast. 5-4.

Cuts him. 6-4.

Warner keeping distance.

Match ends.

285: Cassioppi vs. Steveson

1st period:

Still asking myself why Gable came back. Why not just go WWE? Oh, well -- his call. Time for Tony to shock the world....

Gable with a quick snatch single and easy takedown. 2-0.

Gable riding. Tony to his base. RT:35.

Tony to his feet. Gable cuts him. 2-1.

1:55 left.

Tony with a collar tie.

Gable with a single, switches off to a double, elevates, finishes. 4-1. RT 1:05.

Gable cuts him. 4-2.

Tying up in the center.

Tony shoots, Gable with a near side cradle, gets 2. Tony breaks the cradle. 6-2. RT 1:30.

Gable cuts him. 6-3. RT 1:37.

Tony to his feet. Gable cuts him. 6-4.

Tony shoots, Gable smashes him with the hips, almost with a cradle, puts him to his back for a 2 count. 10-4.

Gable cuts him. 10-5. RT 2:38.

Hand fighting. Period ends.

Starting neutral.

Gable with another shot for an easy takedown. 12-5.

Cuts him. 12-6.

Tony doing his best. Gable is a beast.

Tony shoots, Gable scores. 14-6.

Cuts him. 14-7.

Tony still fighting.

Tony shoots, Gable comes around for 2.

Match ends. Gable wins, 17-7.

Carver crowd gives Gable a standing O. Classy behavior by Gable as he gives the crowd a thumbs up. He has matured a lot over the last few years. I actually like the kid. He won me over. Best of luck to him.
 
I’ll never like the guy but respect the hell out of his accomplishments. Glad to see the Hawk crowd showing their respect of greatness.
