NCAA Championship Thread : Session III

Apparently you smooth brains don’t watch any other matches other than Iowa. There’s 4 matches on the top side at 84 happening right now and there’s a total of 10 points scored in all 4. But you’re not paying attention because there’s no Hawkeyes on the mat to cry about. And you’re old enough to be a grandfather. Incredibly embarrassing.
0 points scored in the 1st period of all 4 quarterfinals at 184. None of them were Hawks?!

Well then have your team lose more often and it wouldn't be a problem.

I honestly don't know why there's always so much pushback on this simple concept/solution..........

I mean f*** even Nick Saban is out here on record saying Alabama losing more would bring in more fan interest.
We would if you guys had done something similar during the 70's, 80's, and 90's. :)

Always been big on Brands. Not impressed with what I’ve watched. The development, game planning. It’s all we like tough wrestling and grinding it out when we have too. It’s more like the plan. Grind it out unless it comes super easy. Don’t ever do something with risk. We lose a lot of close matches. We win some too. As of late who have we watch develop as a wrestler in our room? Not saying it doesn’t happen.
I dunno. Brands with that yellow sneaker against RBY was genius

I love the brands bros but we need better fkn wrestlers. tired of this shit
They need to start by breaking up the staff. You don't need both tom and Terry on staff as they pretty much work with the same weights and teach the same tired philosophy, marinelli coaches how he wrestled and it shows, Telford is a volunteer, but not really giving anything good but being another body to roll around with for heavyweight.

The only passive wrestler in this session was Brands. Spencer and Real both put up points. Murin got beat but it wasn't because he was passive or wasn't trying. Same with Teske. Siebrecht was creating action in match and got in trouble trying to be funky.

Almost all of our guys are slow footed plodders. We lack athletes. Strength and intensity is great but we are severely lacking quickness and explosiveness.
So many hawks have been caught flat footed this year. Just slow and not great scramblers. Hell of a bunch of hand fighters tho

To be honest, I mostly come over here to get a different perspective and see how different fan based view and experience the same events. I’m out sports.

I always seem to forget the high likelihood of any of my sarcasm/silliness being met instantly with “hurrrrr durrrrr Sandusky, steroids, biased refs” which probably is the impetus for reflexively classless posts like my “Iowa style” jab.
Maybe just remember you’re a guest on someone else’s board.

It would be something if we don’t end up with a trophy. Kinda knew it was possible to not finish 2nd possibly but if we don’t change the momentum it could get dicy.

Thank you.
PAHurdler -- If you want to come over to the Iowa site to boast, so be it. Cael Sanderson has it rolling like Dan Gable did for Iowa in late 1970s through mid 1980s.

However, none of the greatness of Cael changes the perception that Penn State has nationally. I live out west. If you ask someone out here what is the first thing that comes to mind when they think of Penn State, it is Jerry Sandusky (sexual predator) and Joe Paterno covering up for him. No title this weekend, or even a run to the Sweet 16 in men's basketball will change that perception.
