Nice. At least I got my answer here. Still going to have a tough row to hoe for AA status, but at least he showed us he still wants it. Will probably be cheering harder for him than anyone else left wrestling!

PAHurdler -- If you want to come over to the Iowa site to boast, so be it. Cael Sanderson has it rolling like Dan Gable did for Iowa in late 1970s through mid 1980s.

However, none of the greatness of Cael changes the perception that Penn State has nationally. I live out west. If you ask someone out here what is the first thing that comes to mind when they think of Penn State, it is Jerry Sandusky (sexual predator) and Joe Paterno covering up for him. No title this weekend, or even a run to the Sweet 16 in men's basketball will change that perception.

They need to start by breaking up the staff. You don't need both tom and Terry on staff as they pretty much work with the same weights and teach the same tired philosophy, marinelli coaches how he wrestled and it shows, Telford is a volunteer, but not really giving anything good but being another body to roll around with for heavyweight.

they need to do more than break up the coaching staff. they need an entirely new conceptional approach, like technique on shots…..on the few times any are attempted, plus a mindset of actually scoring. the concept of we are tougher and we will be more physical has not been working but it’s all Brands knows and he is never wrong. it’s no wonder that high school wrestlers who are quick and athletic don’t was to wrestle here. Tom’s coaching concept of “we only care about what we do” doesn’t work against quality opponents…especially when everyone knows how to prepare for Iowa. b

Is Cass hurt or something? It seems like most of this year he has no offense at all - He used to have a sweet ankle pick, now it seems like he just dances like a bear for 7 minutes, no shots. As soon as I write this he takes a shot to win, but still seems afraid to take that shot.. He could have scored a lot more. Gonna lose if you dance like that against Parris or Kirk...
