in defense of brands, how could he have known wick was so good on top? it’s not like they’ve wrestled a million times before… lol
Last match of the session, as in, during the placement matches. All of the weight classes wrestle again before he doesIs cass still going this round?
Yes, maybe. But sometimes you need to help someone out when they are going to make a bad decision.Bull has earned the right to make that call himself.
Exactly, wtf is the point of a coach in the corner if not for this exact reason? It matters, when you have two matches left in your career it matters. Of course it does. SMH.
Then why even have coaches?Bull has earned the right to make that call himself.
Yeah I’m amazed no one has gotten seriously hurt this weekend. But these are wrestlers so even if someone did get hurt you probably would not be able to tell. If this year has confirmed anything for me it’s that wrestlers are just different people. Any other sport with a torn ACL they start rolling on the ground, in this sport that same injury just means a knee brace and a Pat on the shoulder. Now Batisda and Buchanan about dump the scorers table over! SMH
Without getting in to the debate, I love posts that cause people to ponder their logic and consistency.I’m curious - do the coaches get credit here?
Keickesen wins. Kids a beast IMO.Keickesen with a late reversal in SV rideout. Challenge, trying to screw him again, but doesn't work. Hidlay chooses both up now.
Seems like the NCAA wanted to see some TLC matches this weekendNow Batisda and Buchanan about dump the scorers table over! SMH
Marinelli owned Wick from his feet, and other than their first meeting I think he got out from bottom OK but could be mistaken. I don't doubt that Wick took top a time or two with his choice but not certain. Bull had his number, he wrestled like shit today and got beat. Then why even have coaches?
I don't think Marinelli went down in any of the matches where he beat Wick, but today seemed like a good time to change up a winning strategy?
I am sorry, I love Marinelli but the coaches need to do what's best for the wrestler and the team in those situations.
no he basically never got out. he would get the takedowns. wick would choose top and bull would lay on his belly and stall to weather the storm. that’s the first time he’s chosen down since the 16-3 drubbing in 2018.Marinelli owned Wick from his feet, and other than their first meeting I think he got out from bottom OK but could be mistaken. This is one area in the sport where I really disagree with a lot of people's strategy. People make terrible decisions regarding starting position all the time. In what other sport do people choose to put their opponent in an advantageous position. Don't I want to spend as much time as possible in my best position. People overvalue the escape point and undervalue the opportunity cost in time by ceding the advantage to your opponent. It's terrible strategy.I actually thought the exact same thing - it was his choice.
It was in part sarcasm and in part serious thought.Without getting in to the debate, I love posts that cause people to ponder their logic and consistency.
Seems that way. Crazy that cass can’t figure out parris yetI don't think Parris will ever beat Kerk again. Getting owned
If that's true then it was indeed a bad choice by whomever made it. Regardless Bull beat him 4 in a row and I don't think they were in doubt much. I don't recall any nail biters anyway.no he basically never got out. he would get the takedowns. wick would choose top and bull would lay on his belly and stall to weather the storm. that’s the first time he’s chosen down since the 16-3 drubbing in 2018.
Or hear me out put a table in the center of the mat and award bonus points for breaking the table with your opponent.here is a fresh idea, and by fresh something that gets brought up all the time. extend the mats and past the circle and dont put a table right there so takedowns on the edge can flipping happen.
Was thinking the same about Tony and Kerk. He's going to be a monster next year!I don't think Parris will ever beat Kerk again. Getting owned
Our guys have given up an embarrassing amount of back points this tournament. Way too many neutral danger exposures! If Cass would stay off his back early he could beat Parris.
Might be safer in the middle in most matches.Or hear me out put a table in the center of the mat and award bonus points for breaking the table with your opponent.
Do you honestly think they don’t?Our guys have given up an embarrassing amount of back points this tournament. Way too many neutral danger exposures!
We need to start coaching these positions and putting our opponents on the receiving end and learning to bail out when we're in trouble.
I thought ADS did against Byrd...ref didn't agree with meOur guys have given up an embarrassing amount of back points this tournament. Way too many neutral danger exposures!

Most of those matches were complete nail biters by my memory! If that's true then it was indeed a bad choice by whomever made it. Regardless Bull beat him 4 in a row and I don't think they were in doubt much. I don't recall any nail biters anyway.
In Iowa city this year. Kerk went upper body.... mistake to try that on Cass. At the bigs in Lincoln. Kerk let go to try and get out of bounds... mistake. In overtime Cass was the aggressor and had a great shot. Cass wrestled smart. Kerk will never go upper body with Cass. How can Cass beat Kerkvliet but lose to Parris?
