He went 1-2 actually. Won his 2nd match due to an injury early in the match. So Rathjen didn't win one match.
Right, but he didn't win a match. Just like Starocci didn't lose twice. He went 1-2 actually. Won his 2nd match due to an injury early in the match.
Thought we might get some interesting Kansas City Thom Brenneman Nick Castellanos level commentary there for a secondIn case anyone didn’t know, Shane Sparks loves gold fish, Matcast you got to listen to him chomp on some.
He won his first consi yesterday. So Rathjen didn't win one match.
Gee wonder where the blame rests for that trend. This is very likely the case. But can you think of a program that has more nc’s or high placers as sophomores and juniors that disappeared as seniors? McDonough, Sorensen, St John, Marinelli, Kemmerer just to name recent guys. Injuries are a huge part, but seems like a running theme that our seniors are physically shot.
Sorry, but that is just a really dumb play on words. Iowa is quite content with the 2.5 points he scored for that 1 match he “didn’t” win…Right, but he didn't win a match. Just like Starocci didn't lose twice.
He was in concussion protocol for about 10 min and got taken down with about 15 seconds to go to lose 5-3What the hell just happened to Shapiro???
He was not right after the concussion protocol. What the hell just happened to Shapiro???
okay that makes sense. I only saw the final sequence and he gave that up so easy and then looked confused. He was in concussion protocol for about 10 min and got taken down with about 15 seconds to go to lose 5-3
Not much they could do with Ramirez's win over CarrNeed to see a nice convincing win by Caliendo here. Really want it to show why putting Ramirez at the 3 and Carr and Hamiti at the 4 and 5, respectively was a damn joke…
The portal should be a way to plug 1-2 holes a year. You could make arguments they need to be portal hunting at 133, 141, 149, 157, 184, and even 197. Just not how you build a contending team. Have to recruit and develop.Buying guys in the portal isn't going to fix what's wrong with this program.
At what point is anyone willing to change the approach????
Really, can anyone explain it to me?
We're all pleased with the points, no doubt. I'm just thinking the kid has to be disappointed getting to the Nationals and losing the only matches where he saw the mat.Sorry, but that is just a really dumb play on words. Iowa is quite content with the 2.5 points he scored for that 1 match he “didn’t” win…
unfortunately, i think this is going to be the approach going forward...you're starting to see it in fball and bball, only makes sense it is going to wrestling and other sports.Buying guys in the portal isn't going to fix what's wrong with this program.
At what point is anyone willing to change the approach????

I get that, but I also think worse losses should play a substantial part as well. Ramirez looked terrible against Olejnik and that match basically gets fully ignored…Not much they could do with Ramirez's win over Carr
Dude the match he won the guy got injured WHILE wrestling Rathjen. They were ON the mat…We're all pleased with the points, no doubt. I'm just thinking the kid has to be disappointed getting to the Nationals and losing the only matches where he saw the mat.
We need a coaching change. Start with star and Telford. None of these outcomes should be surprising. It was expected unfortunately.Buying guys in the portal isn't going to fix what's wrong with this program.
