Is anyone really surprised by this? Slow to start.. .keeps going for things he can not finish. ... keeps it close.. Maybe a weight issue .. I sure hope that is the problem or we will be better looking for someone else at this weight. So much promise at the start of the year and so much letdown. Let's see what he does in the wrestle backs.

Meyer was relentless, but out of control and sloppy. He was pressing way too much. He needs to calm the f**k down and get us some points on the backside.

When you wrestle to your opponents strength you deserve to lose. Meyer lost to a guy who was 13-10. Very entertaining match but poor match by Meyer.

This isn't the Iowa wrestling I grew up with. This is beyond frustrating to watch. We're never the first to offense, never the first to shoot, rarely the first to score, and we don't wrestle for 7 minutes. There's absolutely no urgency. This could be the first practice of the year with the urgency they show as easy as it could be the damn National Championships! I don't get it. You ask can get mad at me or tell me I'm crazy but I know what I'm looking at and it isn't pretty so far today. They clearly haven't learned from the last 5 years of battling Penn State what it takes to win a team title.

Meyer will likely have to run the table of Nick Kee, Myles Martin and Chandler Rodgers to place. They are all winnable matches but after that round I have little faith.

Injured Sam Stoll is about the same boat. No one on this team should wrestle tight, not like we were favored or anything.
