These used to be top power teams. To have all of them being this far down in the same season and over the past few years is really odd. Were these from bad coaching hires?

Did the portal wreck their squads?

Something in the water? What is the cause?

Poor coaching hires would be the best bet. If you get a stud one and done player,what good does that do your squad? How do you ever build a cohesive team with so much turnover?

Michigan hired an alum with a name with no college or head coaching experience who turned out to be a hothead.

IU hired an alum that was a failed NBA coach with no college experience, who was also in his 60s when hired.

Maryland let Turgeon hang around too long before kicking him to the curb and that is causing implications still, then they replaced him with a guy that was average-ish at Seton Hall.

There’s no reason Holtmann should have ended up as bad as he did at OSU. But they’re finishing the season with an interim coach after a mid-year firing.

What’s funny is for years I’ve been reading about the refs giving the blue bloods all the calls and such. The conspiracy against the non blue bloods. Funny how that’s not really true. And never was.

MSU isn’t as bad as those teams…..BUT when you look at the current standings they are well below their normal position at this point in the season.

FIRE Fran! With the recruiting /population advantages that those teams have it's pretty impressive that he is generally able to guide the Hawks to an upper division.
