I am 76 years old, grew up in CR and a life long Hawk fan. Have been to over 100 football games home and away, same with mens basketball. Live in NE Iowa and still make the trip to IC for sporting events. Coached boy's basketball for 27 years and taught for 41. Never thought it would be possible for me to enjoy watching the women play more that the men, but that is what has happened. Hate to admit it but I can't name everyone on the men's roster but can the womens. Can't believe this is what has happened.

It's been that way for a few years now.
Before he died, John Wooden said that he enjoyed watching WBB and frequently attended WBB games because he considered the women’s game a more pure form of the sport and emphasized what he taught his entire life - mainly teamwork.
That's what happens when you have an unprecedented star like Caitlin Clark come along. That and a men's program that, despite having some good players and an exciting style, has a coach that does nothing to promote his team. New, young, aggressive blood is needed, and next season would be a good time for it.
Top of this page you can get the Men's roster. Give it a try, there are some pretty good players on it. Nobody gave us a chance going into the game, nobody. We lost late for some of the same reasons that we have lost games in the past. It's frustrating for Iowa fans, it is for me. I think this team is better than most are giving us credit for. Need to get healthy and figure out how to rebound. Payton should sit next 2 games and get right, we need him better than he is right now.
You must enjoy watching a slower game played with a smaller ball by athletes who can't move laterally and never play above the rim. Good luck with that. It's a nice distraction. That's all.

Well, being that I would rather drive a molten railroad spike through my eye then use it to pierce my sack than watch our men’s b-ball team, anything is more enjoyable than watching Iowa men’s b-ball. Same shit every year. 70% of the scholarship players have no business being on a big ten scholarship.
I get it, but I'm the opposite. I can't watch WBB without cringing, sorry. MBB the main watch for me during bball season, and always will be.

It is much more like I was taught to play back in the dark ages, except for adding the 3 pt shot.

I still like and cheer for the men's team but I certainly am more bothered by the women losing.
I prefer and have always preferred the men's game even when CC was playing.
