Next in line... commitment for football...

You guys offered him and he said no thanks. Interesting because he is the son of hawk great Nate Creer.

What? A recruit didn't go where is dad went? Those Illannoy teams were juggernauts too. The Zooker could recruit just couldn't win consistently with all that talent.

Just show me somelace besides a message board where that is mentioned. A recruiting site would work. I will certainly apologize if there is anything. I am used to certain folks around here that embellish on a regular basis to slam anything ISU.

FWIW this is from Wiki although I am not a fan of Wikipedia. The footnote indicates the info was taken from Scout.com which you probably won't accept weejun but I'm not looking any further for info.

Scheelhaase committed to the University of Illinois on July 16, 2008.[1] Scheelhaase was recruited by the University of Oklahoma, the University of Missouri, the University of Iowa, the University of Arkansas, and the University of Kansas among others before signing with The University of Illinois.[2] Scheelhaase played safety as a sophomore and admits that some schools talked to him about the possibility of him playing on defense, but under center is where he wants to be. "Most everybody is recruiting me at quarterback and that's what I think I'm gonna play."

2. "Nathan Scheelhaase". Scout.com. Retrieved 2011-10-07.

I won't go through the effort to find you anything. You're an idiot if you saw him play in High School and at 6'2'' 190lbs. running 4.5 40 dynamic runner, average arm and couldn't envision him at any other position than QB. Iowa was not the only school that thought his skills could be put to better use at a position other than QB.
You are like the others.....didnt like your bluff call did you

Why on God’s great earth I would make something up like that is beyond comprehension. Heck, Illinois toyed with making him a wide receiver while Juice Williams was their senior QB before he redshirted but no I won’t try to find some link to prove it to you. Please read hemihawks link for your proof that SOME teams saw him as a DB. You truly have shit for brains.

Okay shit for brains. Read the Gazette article from August 2012 “Scheelhaase bummed he won’t play at Kinnick” about halfway through the article asked why he didn’t choose Iowa gives 2 reasons #1 Wanted to stay at QB #2 Wanted to see the field quickly. Apology accepted.

Nope Cytwins will demand a link and then when one is given he will just ignore it. Like all clown fans they simply ignore what disrupts their myopia.

Just watch.

Where is the article?

Dochterman is a homer, unless Cyclone Randy writes it there is no way it can be true. The Register is the only paper that knows the truth........... how did it feel to be incredibly wrong again? Does it ever get old or embarrassing?

Don't live in Iowa, so that is not my hobby.

An Iowa State fan throwing out insults about people living in Iowa but also telling us Cambell (now an Iowan) will not run from Ames. Lord, you truly are a few clowns short of a circus and dumber than a bag of hammers.

Why would Campbell run from Ames when he is already started to get the Clones in the rankings? He is just getting started and the USA Today has them in the preseason rankings, And moved them up after spring. I know that stings a bit with the Hawks not listed.

This savior is no different than any before him. CMC is still looking up at Paula after two years.

Woof

Hawkeyes wanted him as a defensive back, he wanted to play QB. That is the main reason he was not a Hawkeye. He would have made one heck of DB, much better chance at next level playing DB than QB.
Ah, once again the Iowa curse of telling recruits whats best for them, and not what they want to hear. This holds especially true with high school QB's. Cmon on down AJ Derby.....;)

I figured as much because he did not take the Creer name. It probably hurt the hawks much like the Clones were hurt in recruiting Barnes.
Yes, I'm sure we were crushed. More likely the young man spent four years in that cesspool realizing what a mistake he made.

I believe you calling the bluff worked well. You pushed someone to prove you wrong and they did. You were rolling along with people thinking you were a fool, you pushed the envelope so those thoughts were confirmed. Another in a long line of inaccurate comments from you. So proud.

Derrick Miller....hope he commits soon. Jalen Hunt is also another solid guess (once his mom visits Iowa City). Another solid guess is Larry Tracy. All three could be Hawks here soon. Wishful thinking, but why not?

Hunt would be a nice pull from MI. I know MSU has offered and several of his teammates are going to MSU.

What propelled Iowa to become a strong contender for his services? I know you
do land guys from MI but not all that often.

The Hawks currently have 3 guys on our depth chart from the greater Detroit area. Furthermore, many kids from the region know guys like Desmond King and Carl Davis ... and the Hawks helped develop them into quality NFLers. Lastly and probably most importantly, Phil Parker (our DC) has strong ties in Michigan ... and those connections occasionally give us an "in" with recruits.

Iowa had a better season than Iowa State last year, and that was one of the best seasons in Cyclone history. We absolutely aren't jealous or scared of ISU. You'll revert back to the mean like always.

Probably because hunt wants nothing to do with rapeville, cesspool spartyland. Seems like a smart kid.

I know this must be very embarrassing to you to be proven so uninformed but If you simply apologize and admit you were wrong I would take back the “shit for brains” comment about you.

Dude, seriously. Stop giving this pissant any run. He is a clown troll. Just ignore him.

True about Zook. But things got worse when he left. Music to a jackboot's ears.
As for Nate's son: http://www.espn.com/college-football/player/stats/_/id/480413/nathan-scheelhaase
4 year starter and won bowls games in his first two years, the Zook is fired and Beckman leads them down the toilet. He clearly made the wrong choice imo but still he won more bowl games than Iowa did in the same time period.
Losing Scheelhaase is understandable considering the circumstances.
It's these legacies that appear less understandable.

tate wildeman - nebraska
trevor ruhland - notre dame - current starting center
ted karras - illinois (now in the nfl)
aj derby - arkansas (now in the nfl)
brian bobek - ohio state/iowa state - starting center?

Kirk losing legacy linemen just doesn't make sense. According to reports he didn't show any interest in 3 of those listed above.

trevor ruhland - notre dame - current starting center

Isn't Ruhland the Hawkeye legacy that didn't get an offer from Iowa and did from Notre Dame? Said being spurned by Iowa was his daily motivation?....... I'm gonna go look for a link...

Karras really wasn't a legacy. Wildeman got pulled into nebby through his Dad's friendship with Diacco.

Parker Wildeman is a manager at the Lifetime Fitness here in Parker, CO. Parker W. truly hates Kirk F. and the changes that Kirk implemented. He asks me every time he sees me wearing a Tigerhawk, “Iowa? They still play football?”.

Many of the 90’s Hawks who played under Fry do not like Ferentz. Many think that he changed the culture to and the cultural change was I welcomed.

My opinion is that Kirk did change the culture and he changed it to fit his personality. Kirk is more pragmatic, Fry was more flamboyant.

Either way, I know Parker W. to be a douche and I can confirm that he has switched allegiances to “anything but Kirk”.

Wasn't Parker on the S&C staff when Kirk was hired? Maybe his issue with the culture change is the new culture didn't include him?
