We're one year away. No one on this team is ready for the NBA at this point in their careers and in fact, may never be. We'll be loaded next year with a chance to compete for a Big 10 title and Sweet 16 or better. This year's Big10 Tourney and NCAA tourney will be great experience for next years program. Go Hawks. Rest up.............youre going to need it.

This was our year. Even with all of the injuries.
Too much turnover with rosters in CBB to bank on next year.
As someone has said this is not a Fran fade it's a Joe Wieskamp fade. Ever since his 30 point game against Nebraska he hasn't been himself.
An NBA evaluation at the end of this season is laughable at best.
If he doesn't know what to work on during the off season to better himself and has to go outside Iowa's coaching staff to figure it out, maybe basketball is not in his future after college, or at Iowa.
He might not figure it out this year, but hopefully he'll be fine for his junior season. Every game he plays in is more experience he can draw from going forward.

The Hawks have set themselves up pretty well this year to make a run at the Sweet 16 this year, but they need Joe W to get himself together if they're gonna do that. He can get it together now or he can wait til next year. He might as well do it now. Too many variables that can derail what looks like a promising year next year. Transfers, injuries, who knows. Go after it now. Joe W has a great looking free throw stroke. He can shoot it. He's what, 6'7? To me, he just needs to start rising up from 3 point land with confidence and shoot over all those defenders that seem to be giving him trouble. So what if you miss a few? If a guy with that free throw form starts shooting like every shot is going in, he's going to get on a good streak faster than he realizes. That's going to open up the rest of the overall offense as well as the rest of his offensive game. That's what I'd tell Joe W, anyway.
You think Bakari is equivalent to Bohannon? I know you showed your dislike for JBo in another thread, but he adds range that even Fredrick doesn’t have.
JBo is a great shooter ...period end of story’s
JBo is also, undersized, slow, a liability on defense and unable to break down a defense and hinders the flow of the offense .
He also is a question mark on his ability to comeback after 2 surgery’s . However he would’ve if healthy a valuable shooter who could come off the bench and give us a spark
In what world is Bohannon not a 10X upgrade over Bakari? Iowa's problem is it doesn't have enough 3pt shooters--only Fredrick and JoeW. Also lacks a PG that can feed the post/run the team at low Turnover level. JBbo fits that need perfectly.
Whether Nunge can step up and equal Kriener, that is a big question. The overall depth on the team is going to much better being able to bring in Div1 athletes instead of walk ons.
One big problem is that Garza, surrounded by 3 guys, can't get the ball out to anybody, shooter or not.
Still have some solid young talent and should be fun to watch
