Next Year's Team

I just want to make sure I am following here...we are arguing about a BASKETBALL coach from 25 years ago on the FOOTBALL board...and using what happened in a sport with zero correlations to football as the decision making process here? And also mentioning the 60's and 70's...50-60 years ago...to justify how bad things could get. Got it. 🤷‍♂️

These would have been the returning players for the ‘99-00 season if Dr Tom stuck around:

Dean Oliver
Ryan Luehrsmann
Jason Price
Kyle Galloway
Joey Range
Duez Henderson
Rod Thompson
Guy Rucker
Jacob Jaacks

That’s a team that finishes last in the Big Ten.

And what recruiting class are you referring to? There was no recruiting Dr Tom’s final season because he was a lame duck. Seems like you’re just making things up to suit your narrative.
I don't agree about the quality of that roster.

You are right about recruiting. Dr. Davis stopped as soon as the morons didn't retain him.

Dr. Davis won 7 in NCAA in six quals in the 90s. The program has won 6 in the twenty five years since. Yeah, I think we were far ahead as a program with a national profile and an annual expectation of qualifying.

As for Doll I'd say he has a great opportunity to contribute as a returner if Wetjen leaves.

Lets have some fun with the starting lineup. This is what it looks like if we don't include extra year guys, incoming and outgoing portal guys. I plugged in starters with guys who have rotated in this year. You guys fill in the blanks and make a guess considering the tougher schedule next year.

QB- Sully, Lainez, Stratton
RB- Moulton, Jaz
FB- RVW
WR- Gill, Buie, RVZ, Howard, Anderson
TE- Ostrenga, Ortwerth
LT- ?
LG- Stephens
C- Pieper
RG- ?
RT- Dunker

DE- Max L
DT- Pittman
DT- Graves
DE- Allen Jr
LB- Harrell
LB- ?
Cash- Nestor?
CB- Hall Jr
CB- DLee
S- Nwankpa
S- Entringer

K- Stevens
P- Dakin
I'm guessing Entringer will follow Castro - starts at CASH and moves to safety when the D shifts to three LBs. Maybe Lutmer at safety when Entringer is at CASH.
