Appears #99 is a big boy in the clip above too. Only 10 yards away and he ain't got time for that.Never seen that. Pretty cool and creative. Reggie was a big boy.
Meh. It's the Bengals it's like tricking Iowa State or the special needs kid. It works, but you feel bad about it afterwards.
Cincinnati was 8-8 that year. One game out of the playoffs and the same record as the Oilers.
I never knew it existed....Forgot about Sunday night football on espn with Mike Patrick and Joe Theissman

He would warm up before the game vs. our Mason City Mohawks, back in the day. Punts would enter the stratosphere before descending back to earth.
Mike Patrick was awesome. Member Paul Maguire too?Forgot about Sunday night football on espn with Mike Patrick and Joe Theissman
Certainly nothing legendary, but it was my job to block him for WW's kick return team. And he made a 53 yd fg against us.

I graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington a long time ago. I once asked my baseball coach who hit the longest home run that he’d ever seen. He immediate said Reggie Roby. At Wash. Anyone who knows Washington’s field appreciates it. It’s scenic and somewhat lopsided. There isn’t another varsity field quite like it. There’s a house in right center field with a pool in the back yard. Reggie homered against Wash when he played for East High and the ball not only cleared the pool, it cleared the entire house. My coach saw it all happen. I love stories like that. Reggie was a special dude.
Do I remember correctly that there used to be a tree in center field that was in play?

I've yet to see any punter put the ball as high up as Reggie. The crowd reaction at Kinnick to some of his kicks was amazing. He was a game changer.
I remember him putting one through the window of the house across the streetI went to Waterloo West but use to go the the East games just to watch Reggie. He used to kick extra points over the goal post, across the street and into the back yard of the house next to Sloan Wallace Stadium.
A lot of people mention Ray Guy as the GOAT. He wasn’t in the same room as Reggie, IMO.
Reggie's punts were majestic to say the least. Never seen anyone like him since. I remember just how high they got, over the top of the stadium at times.
Ss incredible as RR was, didn't Fry have a pooch kicker for short kicks that resulted in Reggie having a big time average?
