Helps resume. lot better being 2-2 vs 1-3 against quality non conf teams (wazzu, Utah st, ISU and Utah) come March if on the bubble.
Very nice coming back from a halftime deficit. Nice win especially with Traore still out and Freeman saddled in foul trouble. Looks like Ladji is starting to figure it out.
So with I assume a win in their next game, which would put them at 10-3, what do they need to make tourney, 20 wins, 21, 22 23?
Maryland/UCLA/Michigan State/Oregon would beat that Utah team by 20+.
Best effort yet by Iowa this year.
In the last 12 months, Utah has played 4 games against these teams. They have gone 3-1. Beating Oregon by 3, and losing to Oregon by 1. They also beat UCLA by 1, and beat them again by 46.
Take a bet that Iowa gets an NCAA at large or STFU, simpy.

Yes last year Utah was 17-15 middle of the pack 7th out of 12 PAC12 team. The WA St. team we beat earlier this year was 6th place. Beating Utah this year after losing to them in NIT is a good thing---going 1-3 vs our peers would have been bad for our resume.
We're on pace to be 10-10 in B1G, maybe some upside if Fran can fix the defense, but that isn't his forte.
Good win, hawks needed that one and might help with confidence moving forward. Still all those brutal conference games left though.

Oregon really blew them off the court last year when they beat them by 1 on their home court and lost to them at Utah.
You know what's awesome about college basketball? They actually have to play the games and upsets happen in basketball almost as much as any other sport.
