Nick Brooks down to 3…Iowa not one of them. Another recruiting/NIL FAILURE!

@Jedhawk77 We are thinking of the same person. Who knows. Hate to spread rumors. Just have heard it from more than one person.
Would be intersting to see how you would approach it if you would like to spread rumors. 😜
Instead you go with vaguebooking each of the finalists with the ‘well I heard something about someone’
Issue with Vandeberg? Share it.
King? Share it
Angerer? Share it
Kaeding? Share it
Otherwise you are just throwing shade at each of them and letting others let their minds run crazy on it

Have you seen some of the theories people come up with even when the facts say otherwise? With the vaguebooking approach it could get even wilder.

It would be nice to have some big dogs but Brad has stated if we had 10,000 members we would have one of the better collectives in all of college sports. That should be attainable with our fanbase.

And if we had more members and saw more success would that bring in some whales? Some current NFL players? Zach Johnson? Ashton Kutcher? We did have Heinrich's and Rastetter do a match donation last year before the end of the calendar year.

We need some momentum and while at times we have had some momentum our fans our more interested in hanging their hat on the fact that if we ever make it to Indy we will drink the city of out Busch Light. smh

All in all Brad deserves so much kudos on setting this up. All of the hours and his own money he has donated. Legendary Hawkeye for sure!
Need to add legit perks and you would get to 10,000. Give exclusive access to a spring practice or a couple fall practices. That would get some to kick in. Obviously would have to coordinate with Kirk and the U though.

I would say there are legit perks. Unfortunately most of the good tidbits are shared with EVERYONE on TK's site. There are some zoom meetings with Brad where you can ask him questions. I think there is always brainstorming going on and he's always willing to listen to any and all ideas.! Go to the website and get his email and give us a hand. It seems the Iowa Athletic Dept isn't as committed as some of the others.
Nebraska (not surprising with their rabid fan base and administration that thinks outside the box) will more than likely be quite a ways ahead of us in the not too distant future.

I am a member. I am at the minimum though. Season tickets with seat premiums. With all of life's other expenses (kids at home yet) and savings, about us much can do for now.

Kudos to you and I completely understand. What really needs to happen is the AD allow a percentage of seat donation to go toward Swarm if the individual would like.

Semantics, but living 15 years out of 17 years somewhere including the first 14 makes you from there. We’ll just have to agree to disagree.
All I’m saying is if he didnt move up here for his junior year, and stayed in Georgia, this isn’t even a conversation about “locking him down”. He’s a Georgia kid now. Not an Iowa kid.

ETA: the point of locking down talent from your home state is to keep that talent at home. This kid is moving to Georgia, now it’s Georgia’s turn to lock him down.

Yep, I agree. Have the option to allocate seat premium to it. Obviously would have to be a little communication and coordination between the AD and NIL. Or can the schools currently just move right on to paying players? In that case the AD needs a football GM.

If kids could just put a Venmo on their unis (could just do name and number as their venmo ID) or something like that I can 100% guarantee you there would be games where I'd venmo some players some coin during the games. Kind of like tips for good service. And allow (if possible) Swarm to do greater promos in stadium when stands are full.

Yeah, I couldn't do that. I'd be a 12 pack in and be Venmoing everybody.

Our coaches have a good eye for talent along with a blueprint of the typer of player that they want and fits in to the program. We are lucky in that sense.

The low number of members of Swarm, while EXTREMELY EXTREMELY frustrating for current supporters, is really going to give our fan's a rude awakening when it's time to replace KF & Fran and some names fans THOUGHT might be at the top of the list will snub us.
With KF’s inept offense and Fran’s inept defense, if coaches aren’t willing to help themselves improve their program to do better then why should fans be expected to donate money? I’ll donate money when KF decides to play offense to win games not always play not to lose the game. I can’t tell you when the offense truly won a game without the defense or special teams bailing the O out. Otherwise, it’s wasted money on him not trying to improve the offense and Fran not doing all he can to improve the defensive style of play from his Jim Dorn style of oulay defense. You get KF to play a real offense then you will see new members and donations. Same goes for Fran except on defense. And I’ll donate to both if that happens.

Brooks, according to people who know him, is another Kadyn Proctor, only worse. Brooks is said to be a lazy bum who dominated in high school because, with his size, who wouldn't. No angst here over "losing" Proctor or Brooks.

BTW: Maybe potential OLs should notice that Tristan Wirfs, a product of Mt. Vernon HS and the U of Iowa, is now the highest paid OL in the history of the NFL. Anyone OL who doesn't want to be a Hawkeye, especially now under Tim Lester . . . good riddance. IMHO, of course.

Don't kid yourself. You will not donate. Just like the portion of fans who claimed "once BF is gone I'll join". What happened? We actually go down in membership. Our fanbase is definitely not as diehard as we claim.

LoL. Used to have season tickets and donate. Willing to do it again now that the kids are out of conflicting sports if KF is willing to play offense to win games instead of play not to lose on offense, not rely on defense and special teams every single game. You can’t go the last three years w/o scoring points against the top level teams in the league and expect people to go all in when the head coach isn’t on offense. Why don’t you stay there, bub.

No you aren't.

And we have a new O Coordinator. Glad to see you are already writing off the offense before a single snap has occurred on the season.

I will almost guarantee that Brooks will not be a OT in college. He does not have the foot speed at all. This is Iowa's current issue, they have a the potential for great guard play, but they have been lacking the athletic outside guys. I fully agree that Barnett should be gone this year if the line doesn't produce.
If not OT what will he be, then?

I’m not talking about top 50 type players.

In general, with a vastly improved offense, they will have some money to work with to get better talent at positions of need.

The point is when your reputation on offense is a joke and you’re limited on NIL funds compared to the big boys you have almost zero chance of getting legitimate P5 talent. That doesn’t mean you can’t develop 2 and 3 star recruits to that level, but it does mean you’re going to be severely limited in talent acquisition when you have the reputation you do and can’t offer the dollars other schools are.

Seems like common sense to me.
Well, the poor reputation of Iowa’s offense was based on Brian Ferentz’s scheme, so with him gone…offense should get reset…hopefully quickly.

We’ve lived through 24 years of KF. If he decides to again play offense to win, yes I will now that the kids are grown. You have no clue about me and what we will do. Are you a season ticket holder and donate? I highly doubt it at the levels we did with four tickets and the donations for over 15 years.

Well of course I currently donate. I have four and as you know you have to donate unless sitting in the end zone. I wish a percentage of my donation could go to Swarm. Kirk could step down and promote Mary and I'll continue to financially and come to the games to support my beloved Hawks.

And obviously you can spend your money how you like. I'm tired of the fans claiming they will join when Brian is gone. Or if x happens. How bout let's be positive and support making the Hawks a contender (even spreading the word of Swarm. Or sharing on social media Swarm info ) instead of saying why you don't join or encouraging others not to join (not saying that is you ). But there have been others that hate NIL and what it has become so they push that narrative not to support Iowa athletics.
