Iowa should win because it's an OOC mid-week game against a non-MVC opponent.
If this were against Southern Illinois, Iowa would be f***ed for sure.

We rarely play SIU. Probably for the reasons you stated.

Seems like RPI is not a good metric for baseball. Too many weird things can happen over the course of a 60 game season.
Midweek games should not be given the same weight as a weekend series. Schools like Iowa simply can't schedule quality games due to locality.
Weekend series' should be looked at as a series instead of individual games. Iowa won 2/3 at Purdue last weekend and lost RPI points overall. That should be a positive. Extra points could be given for sweeps.
Home wins are relatively useless when it comes to the RPI.
Lost points taking 2/3 from Purdue, Rutgers, and CSUN. Roughly 20 each time for the last two due to being at home and like 2-3 spots for Purdue.
What you could do if you'd be willing to travel a bit more for midweek would be keep Bradley and Illinois State as they are so so to good quality depending on the year.
Add home-home midweek vs Creighton and Mizzou. One here and there each year.
Then do the tue-wed midweek series we've done in the past against a KSU, Kansas like team.
With that you'd only have to face a Western Illinois once.

That, and it's a 7 hour bus ride. Not what anyone wants for a mid-week single.
