29% in big ten play scoring under 12 ppg. 3 games in single figures. It is definitely not good.
I'm modifying my original prediction that they may only win 1/2 road games inthe B1G conference...

17 points in a half isn't going to win many games. The first half showed they are capable of doing better.
O'Grady with a few terrible open misses from underneath, and then bonking the final shot.
McCabe with zero open looks the entire half.
Guyton--same.
Affolter doing things like pulling up her dribble on a 1v1 fast break.
Feuerbach airballing 3pt shots.
Stremlow back to freshman minutes.
Don't know what happened to Mallegni's progress.
Heiden making freshman mistakes.

Just a huge disappointment in a game they should win against a very average team. Worst game played? I think that checks out.
That was some really low-level basketball by both teams. And some people think Caitlin made women's basketball a thing. Nope. She made HER games a thing, because she's uniquely skilled. But everyone else? CC was like Einstein and everybody else is like Bride of Frankenstein.
I appreciate the effort, but the product is not entertaining.
As for the poor Hawkeyes . . . the women could easily lose every game left on the schedule. (And the men probably won't be far behind.) Hey, it was fun while it lasted.

Every game, so many passes into someone who has nowhere to go, so many lazy passes. So many passes outside of AOG ability to move or jump more than an inch. Worse shooting percentage from two feet than CC from 35 feet. 8000 moving screens.
This team has learned how to lose. Teams that are not very good always find ways to lose games they shouldn't. Lucy has really been struggling. I know she was the 3rd leading scorer in the country(?) last year but besides UConn, who is really good in that conference? I know I have no idea who is good in the Big East. I am going to guess the Big is way tougher on a night in night out basis. So I understand why she is struggling.

I do think both McCabe and Guyton can hit a basket if they have a second. They would need to screen them open for that second however. Didn't happen. Not once.
She should just get the ball high, pivot , and a jump shot.
She shouldn't be in the game
This happens all the time at the D1 level. An Illinois assistant against Michigan St. today was drawing up the play at the end of the game as well. Each assistant has certain game day responsibilities.
We all thought Jan would be a great hire and so did the recruits. Let’s not rewrite history.

I would like to say a lot of this is confidence but watching them attempt to run an offense it’s a scheme thing.
All true and that is why I watch wrestling and Creigton/WV/Drake/ISU this year so I can actually watch well coached competitive teams. Iowa M and W Bball is crap.
Knew they would find a way to lose when up 13, and watched every awful freaking second of it.
Haven't been watching the men but turned on UCLA game just out of curiosity and Hawks were behind by 30. Shut it off.

No maybe 4/5 wins left. Step back and look: no shooters, TO's, no upperclass leadership, upperclass choke, halfcourt offense is terrible, sloppy passing, coach has no clue, etc. Strongest asset is they giggle a lot.
4-5 wins left? I count 3, and not confident in any of them....really hope they can turn it around but not seeing a lot of improvement that gives me any hope of that happening..

The freshman yes. The upper classman, no. We should have 2 or 3 openings in the portal, so lets hope she can entice someone to help.
B1G uses students for BTN+ events through a program called StudentU.

A good coach overcomes defiencies and an average coach has defiencies overcome them.
How dare any of you criticize Jan Jensen. She's a current Iowa head coach....and in case you haven't gotten the memo, all current Iowa head coaches are infallible.
I’m very disappointed with this years team. Any positive momentum we had going for us has certainly disappeared. I think we lead the nation in scoring or we’re damn close the past two years. Now I watch our half court action and there’s no energy there. Passes without purpose and lackadaisical motion that goes no where.
This team has several issues. There’s no pg, no fast break offense, there’s no reliable shooting, Hannah straight up disappears when we desperately need her to be aggressive on offense. Jan has no answers and unfortunately if she did there’s no one on this team that can execute her division.
We had two years of a national audience with the most high profile female athlete in America and we did not capitalize by setting us up for success long term. Welcome back to mediocrity and blow out losses in round two of the tourney in March.
