Not to be outdone by Texas, DeSantis joins in

The Dems have so many flaws as a party and on policy but damned if this thread doesn’t show why I will never vote GOP again.
Because you hate America and you will never convince me you ever voted for a Republican, so take your "I'm open-minded" BS somewhere else. You're obviously a lefty's lefty.

Per the video and ny post article they are. You honestly think they are keeping strict accounting of these people, because there are millions of illegal immigrants who have been here for years say otherwise
Dude. No way. Stop with the right wing bs.

Planeloads of underage migrants are being flown secretly into suburban New York in an effort by President Biden’s administration to quietly resettle them across the region, The Post has learned.

The charter flights originate in Texas, where the ongoing border crisis has overwhelmed local immigration officials, and have been underway since at least August, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Last week, The Post saw two planes land at the Westchester County Airport, where most of the passengers who got off appeared to be children and teens, with a small portion appearing to be men in their 20s.

Westchester County cops stood by as the passengers — whose flights arrived at 10:49 p.m. Wednesday and 9:52 p.m. Friday — got off and piled into buses.

Some of them were later seen meeting up with relatives or sponsors in New Jersey, or being dropped off at a residential facility on Long Island.

A Post analysis of online flight-tracking data suggests that around 2,000 of the underage migrants have arrived at the airport outside White Plains on 21 flights since Aug. 8.

NY post page one
Records show some of the planes touched down between midnight and 6:30 a.m. — when a voluntary curfew is in effect — with two arriving from Houston at 2:13 a.m. and 4:29 a.m. on Aug. 20.

The clandestine nature of the operation raises questions about how the White House is dealing with a recent surge in unaccompanied minors.

The most recent figures from US Customs and Border Protection show that just during July and August, 37,805 unaccompanied minors were caught entering the US from Mexico — sometimes after being abandoned by professional smugglers known as “coyotes.”

Video shows some children dropped over the border wall or abandoned in remote areas.

A source familiar with the operation at the Westchester airport said the underage migrants typically arrive carrying backpacks and are bused to locations including the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, upstate Newburgh, and Bridgeport and Danbury in Connecticut.

Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, it stopped in Syosset, Long Island, at the campus of MercyFirst, a nonprofit sponsored by the Catholic Sisters of Mercy that provides housing and services for “children and adolescents who are the victims of societal problems,” according to its website.

On Friday night, one bus left the Westchester airport and barreled down the Hutchinson River Parkway — which is off-limits to commercial vehicles — at speeds greater than 75 mph before crossing the Throgs Neck Bridge.

MercyFirst has a contract to supply the federal government with residential services for “immigrant youth,” according to the site.

MercyFirst CEO Renee Skolaski didn’t return a request for comment.

Later Saturday, a similar scene began playing out in Jacksonville, Fla., where many of the flights from Texas have touched down before continuing on to Westchester — and where The Post saw a Boeing 737-700 land shortly after 10 p.m. at Jacksonville International Airport.

Biden playing a deadly game using secret flights to move migrants

Here is a nice CNN article that highlights what is happening at the border right now. First hand accounts from immigrants. What happens after they are released by immigration

Believe whatever you want. This country needs to understand how today’s media works. You are easily dupped.
You never answered my question on if you truly believe that this immigrants are being accounted for

Your boy basically ran on the "America is not great" platform. Who hates America more than the cons? They drape themselves in flags, call themselves patriots, yet hate most of the country and culture.

When they taken to a facility or a sponsor yes. Doesn’t mean some will not comply once they are released to said sponsor. Not what you stated.

What's happening? Other than republican governors playing with their lives for votes nothing new is happening. Same thing that's been happening since the 70s.

Anyone wonders why I've given up on following a set religion, I'm just going to point them this thread's way. Holy Christ, some of you stray so far from the teachings of the bible, it might as well be toilet paper. Don't need the bible to tell me the people crossing the border are just that, people, who deserve to be treated like people, and not a scourge or blight on America. I'm glad Martha's Vineyard isn't full of heartless assholes like Fundraiser Abbott and DeathSantis.

Sounds like Biden is doing a great job if more people than usual want to come to the United States for a better life. Thanks, Biden.

For the record, I don't know who brought it up, but the bible has directions on how to give an abortion and in no certain terms argues against abortion, but carry on, heretics.

Ah...my computer didn't load the entire article. However, the article identifies MercyFirst as the third-party vendor that was responsible for securing housing....thus answering the question of who the people in the car would be.
why not show their ID then? If everything is on the up and up like global and others have stated shouldn’t there be a paper trail?

If the federal government contracted with MercyFirst to secure housing for the minors and plan was to have these three pick-up locations, why would the MercyFirst driver need to show and id....and who would the driver show an ID to. And you are assuming there isn't a paper trail....MercyFirst just didn't respond to the NYPost's inquiry....it's a wide leap to the assumption there isn't a paper trail.

44% do not

The rate of no-shows is far below 90 percent, according to the Department of Justice’s most recent annual figures. When using the Justice Department’s preferred metric, 44 percent of migrants who were not in custody failed to show up for their court proceedings.

Well our current population of illegal immigrants will support my assumption

Actually, in deportation order in abstentia (meaning they did not show up to their hearings) varied from 11% to 23% from 2013-2017

Not what we are discussing. JFC
Yes it is it goes back to my previous statement that the government is not doing a very good job of keeping tract of these people. Which flies in the face that these transports done by the federal government our done purely by sending them to other facilities to await their asylum hearing. That doesn’t happen

Same people who bitch that "no one wants to work anymore" are the ones who don't want any immigrants coming in.

Gee, I wonder what factor it is about these immigrants that those folks object to? It sure isn't their work ethic and willingness to take shitty jobs for low pay and long hours. I just wonder what it could be? So hard to figure out....

Irregardless of the number (I didn’t make up the 44%) the system is broken

No you said they are being released to sponsors that the government doesn’t know their identity.

We need workers, but you can’t have an immigration situation like it is right now

Unfortunately, since the mid 1970s, America's approach to immigration parroted the old saying "when all you have is a hammer, the whole world looks like a nail." Pre-1970 border policy and seasonal workers visa programs should be examined.
