Not watching the NC this year.

hmm, think that’s a stretch.

if they played regular season in SEC they wouldnt be in this conversation.
Nope, they played and beat the team that beat 'bama... Their scheduled was not easy in any means.

Alabama played Fresno State, Colorado State, and Mercer... UCF would have been fine if they had 'bama's schedule (considergin Vandy, Ole Miss, Tenn, Ark also sucked this year).

Beat B1G Maryland (@Maryland)38-10
Beat Memphis (bowl team).
Beat Navy (bowl team)
Beat USF (bowl team)
Beat Auburn (neutral field) Who BTW beat Georgia as well and lost to Georgia in SEC Champ.

Strength of Record (RK) 97.7 (6)
Adj Win-Loss (RK) 12.5 - 0.5 (7)
Game Control (RK) 93.7 (10)
Adj Win Probability (RK) --
Avg Win Probability (RK) 74.5% (3)

What a ridiculous cry baby statement. Not a true fan of the sport if you don’t want to watch the pinnacle of the sport because 2 teams from a conference you don’t like are there.

I’m not saying their schedule was easy, just that they would likely have 2-3 losses and many more significant injuries if they played a full SEC slate.

I have no interest in the game, there needs to be a change to the rules that if you don't win your conf championship you don't play in the NC. UCF is the ONLY undefeated team left at the EOD. Bama got a bye week compared to the other 3 teams - how fair is that?

It’s not that difficult of a concept as you’re making it out to be. It’s not a playoff of conference champions. With an unbalanced schedule, that would not only be unfair, but impossible to have just the conference champs. It’s a playoff of the four best teams.

So when 1 team plays 1 less game, does that team have an unfair advantage (injuries, etc)?

The Knights’ strength of schedule ranks just 103rd overall, and they are being punished severely for it by the CFP committee. But their average scoring margin is about 3.8 points ahead of how the average top-five team would be expected to perform. That’s a Résumé S&P+ rating within 0.6 points of Oklahoma.

If is going to be based off of SoS - how in the world does everyone in the country play the top 25 teams? It's impossible. D1 is the ONLY football that doesn't have a true playoff (see HS, DIII, D1-aa, NFL)

Speaking of playing one less game, how many games did UCF play this year? How many did Alabama play?

If very well could be an advantage to have an extra week of rest / get your injured players healthy. I’d bet every team in the country would trade that week off for a spot in their conference championship game though.

UCF's due to uncontrolled circumstances, but if it fits your narrative - enjoy.

Alabama did get their injured healthy due to the week off (which was a controlled circumstance of theirs). Hell, for the teams out there if your SoS is strong enough to get your through not playing in your Conf Champ - lose and get healthy - what a concept.

Watched most of the Oklahoma Georgia game, mainly to hopefully see cocky Mayfield lose. Didn't watch the other game at all, other than flipping to check the score 3 times. Won't watch the BC game at all. It is not a vindictive thing, just have no interest. It is equivalent to a PAC12 game, many people just don't have any interest.

It’s not my narrative guy, it was yours. I was just pointing out that both teams played the same number of games. Controlled or uncontrollable depends on your definition. It’s not like Alabama was scheduled to play in the CCG and said, “no thanks, we like our chances without it.”

I've never understood this "more injuries" statement. Wins/losses I can agree with. Are you trying to tell me that non-P5 conferences play softer football. They don't get tackled as hard, block as aggressively, or some other such nonsense?

Yep - and UCF still managed to beat a team that beat both Alabama and Georgia.

And Alabama still managed to beat the number one team in the country. What’s your point? Do you know who didn’t beat the number one team in the country? Or the number two team in the country?

SOS doesn't really matter....nothing really matters its just who the committee feels like putting in.
They use SOS to get rid of teams they don't want in, like a 1 loss wiscy, but will put in a 1 loss bama with a worse sched.
They will say conf champs matter and leave out the b12 "champ" because of no championship game. Then they'll put OSU in over the b10 champ etc.

Its pretty much a joke....

Play big boy football for 3 months and they'd probably be a little more beat up.....
Not to mention, I hate those games because you never really know how much the power 5 teams puts into it. Say what you want, but that game obviously meant a lot more to ucf.
