You guys got a commit from Nyla Valencia ... sister of So. Aden Valencia who was runner up at S32, Trials, and Fargo. I get the impression that it will be hard to pry him away from Stanford (he's a sharp cookie and he lives right down the road) but it doesn't hurt that Nyla is gonna be a Hawk.

Currently ranked 3rd at 126 and my #13 overall Soph.

Edit: facepalm....didn't check the women's thread first.

Would love to have both, but getting Nyla in of in itself is a huge win for the Hawks. I can’t wait to see her compete in the black and gold!

You've been here enough to know what happens now, typing "Edit" can't save you from the inevitable......

SPOONER! We have a duplicate thread here!

Not exactly sure who this Lady Hawk team is going to be competing against and when(?), but they sure seem to be loading the wagon!!!

By memory - I think there are about 25 other women's teams around the country.

As of January 2021 there were 37 NAIA, 42 NCAA (largely D2/D3), 7 JUCO, and 54 club/NWCA programs. So that is 79 4-year schools with wrestling, not including Iowa. And since the list is old, there are likely more.

thanks for sharing that..... had no idea Grandview and Walford had women’s teams..... two schools with strong wrestling traditions
