O/T... ISU Recruits This Weekend...

This is all very stupid from both teams fans. We get it, we are rivals now lets try to have some mature discussion.

This guy seems to be pretty talented and I'm sure its a pretty big sigh of relief for Clown fans as they have really been whiffing in recruiting since Freddie left. How many years does he have at ISU? If its just one then he should help them have a better tourney run than last year while Niang and Monte are still there. Doesn't help the situation there at all for the future until they land some good prep kids under Prohm. If he has 2 years left and doesn't bolt for the NBA after this year (if he really is good enough to) then I suppose it will make their transition a little easier after they lose their best players after this season.

ISU will be good again this year and will probably be a heavy favorite vs us in Ames unless injuries happen, but I like the look of Iowa's future much more as it stands today.

You're looking for mature discussion and then follow that with "clown fans"?

This kid has 2 years to play and is a 2016 recruit. He won't be on the court this year.

I can take a jab at you guys with the "clowns" thing and still keep it civil, if that is too offensive for you then I don't know what to say. As for this guy can you elaborate what the hell his story really is? I see something of him declaring for the NBA 2 years ago while playing ABCD ball in Des Moines? It seems truly bizarre to me. With this one and Xavier Simpsons recruiting path and commit to Michigan, and the out of nowhere offer/commit from Ernst this has been one of the weirdest recruiting seasons it seems in a long time for ISU.

Not offended, just noting the irony.

He went to a prep school that folded so he went JUCO. ISU continued to recruit him and he committed. Not sure what's so weird about that. If it's too complicated for you then I don't know what to say.

More links, more links. Has I4 found a way to prove the Directors Cup wrong yet?

Keep trying and when you get it do give us a Link.

He's one of those guys who you wonder if he's going to show up eligible and as good as advertised. The fact that he's known around Iowa is reassuring. And I haven't read any indications of anti-social behavior, that kind of thing.

I had not heard of him before this thread. He does look like a talent but there has to be BIG issues with him or the blue-bloods would be all over him. All I can say is good luck - you do not have the mayor anymore to clean up after his players' messes.

Kansas and Arizona offered him

The point is that unless Kansas and Arizona miss on higher ranked kids, they aren't even looking at this kid.

Self flew out to California to watch him practice and then offered him a scholarship. I think it's safe to say Kansas was looking at him. I don't think anyone is saying Arizona and Kansas made him a priority but they offered him a scholarship for a reason

I have a feeling the KU thing was a " if we miss out on some 5 stars" then you will get an offer type thing.

I'd like to thank the Clone fans for some good laughs. Although we don't play you until December, it is always fun knowing you've already given up on football, could care less about the six basketball games you play before us, and are zeroed right in on that all important Iowa/Iowa State game.

So you want to talk recruiting. :) Alright...........;) Let's forget that Iowa owns the best players in the state for the next, well, forever. Let's look at your guys.

My favorite "get" so far for Iowa State is Solomon Young. Good young player from California and I'm sure just about anyone would like to have him. OK, he's a 6'6" power forward, but that's worked for you guys in the past. And believe me, I'm not knocking him.

Then you've got two Jucos. Donovan Jackson and Emmanuel Malou. Good players that had some good offers. I'm glad you go that route. Keeps you away from those Iowa High school kids Iowa wants. And you know, it has worked for you.

Of course you've still got what, three more scholarships to fill? I'm hoping you get Chedda Bob. I really like his name. And when guys come and go (Noskiwiak, Tsalmpouris) like they do at State, a memorable name is important.

And maybe you can go the fifth year route to finish your recruiting! (BDJ)

Keep up the good work pretending you aren't much more than a poor excuse of a semi-pro audition team. I have no complaints, fits you perfectly as a semi-educational institution!

The meltdown following the Toledo loss on cry-clone fanatic has been Epic. If they were to lose to Iowa in MBB some of them would literally explode.

We may have to put out milk cartons looking for I4 and Clone fan gonna cry in that scenario.

Iowa States recent recruiting has been far superior to that of Iowa. Quite honestly it is a bit ridiculous to even debate. Let's not try to fool ourselves by thinking Iowa is somehow locking down the state of Iowa. Other than Woodbury and Gessell (life long hawk fans) every single one of Frans recruits were not highly sought after whatsoever. Can't win at the highest level unless you win on the recruiting trail. Fran needs to start winning on the recruiting trail.
