Oct 31, 2022: Fran brings up putting Students behind the Benches (Beth wants students around the court). Future Renovation of Carver-Hawkeye Arena?

A Thursday night, 8:00 pm CT tip, with a sold out CHA for the #2 Iowa women vs Penn State.

School night? No problem.

8:00 pm CT tip? No problem.

Parking is a pain in the butt? No problem.

How does Iowa bottle this for the Iowa men's BB team?

Today's game vs Wisconsin was a sell out. Iowa won in OT, 88-86.

In Caitlin Clark's last regular season game as a Hawkeye, here are some thoughts from those who were in Carver Hawkeye Arena. The #6 Iowa women won 93-83 over #2 Ohio State.

116 decibels. The place gets loud.

Pretty sure the students will show up for Illinois at Iowa next Sunday, March 10....

Senior day. Gold out. 6pm CT Tip. Fighting for our NCAA Tournament lives.

More thoughts on Carver Hawkeye arena following the #6 Iowa women's 93-83 win over #2 Ohio State.

"I've been in a lot of buildings, but this Iowa energy is like no other."

TD Garden is home of the Boston Celtics.

it seems like the seats are much closer to the court at Welsh Ryan

I wish we had that at Carver
They did spend 110 million on a remodel for an arena that capacity is about 7200. So you would hope for the price tag there isn’t a bad seat in the arena.

We are 5 days from Sunday's huge Quad 1 game vs Illinois.

Last home game of the regular season. Senior Day.

We desperately need this win on our home court for our NCAA tournament hopes.

And there are still student tickets available.

This is a good discussion. Men's basketball used to represent 25% of total athletic department ticket revenue. Now it's down to close to 10%.

The good news is the athletic department now has FOUR very solid sources of ticket revenue (football, WBB, MBB, wrestling) and possibly a 5th emerging with women’s wrestling. Most schools struggle to have two. The Big Ten TV contract is still the sugar daddy though.

We need more star players in the college basketball. College basketball used to be more popular than the NBA.
