*****Official 2023 NCAA tournament games thread*****

Picked Houston to lose in 2nd round! It was actually a 1 seed I didn't think would do much. But I did pick Kansas in elite 8
Well I think you would have been correct except the officials let houston mug and attack the auburn players in the 2nd half, not over but sure turned it around.

Now auburn knows what they did to the hawks

Been mentioned here but they don't call 3 seconds in the lane anymore at all. If I was a big, I'd just camp.

The Auburn player was literally in the lane for 10 seconds. Nothing called.

Princeton is proof that you can win with academically minded players.

I don't think Princeton plays uptempo and is last in their conference in Defense. There is a recipe for
winning with less athletic players, but it doesn't include pushing the ball up the court.

The way I heard it explained is that the committee seeds all the teams and then the top X seed plays close to home. So if Iowa would have been the top 8 seed, they'd have played in DesMoines but they weren't. Auburn must have been the top 9 seed.
If that’s true, it’s stupid and needs to change

NIT (but didn't want to start a new thread): Liberty up at the 12 minute mark in the second half.

Go Liberty!!!

Kansas state getting screwed, can’t get a call against Kentucky. Just forced two obvious jump balls in the same possession, but nope, called for two fouls

9 fouls K State, 3 fouls Kentucky. 1 foul for Oscar “bull in a china shop” Tshibwe. Life as a blue blood must be nice

Both teams loaded with physical freaks. Don't care for either team but I think I picked Kentucky so whistle looks fine to me.

CJ Fredrick has played some....he's like th short Fat kid that no one will pass the ball to on pickup games.. CJ complete non factor...can't get his shot off.

I’ve got money on K state if you can’t tell lol. Feel like K state should have been to the foul line 4 or 5 more times this half but refs are swallowing the whistle more on one end than the other

Nowell is one of my favorite players in this tournament. I’d kill for Iowa to have a point guard like him

MSU playing fearless ball so far.
If MSU & IU could somehow win, it would avoid disaster for BIG.

MSU built for the physical NCAA tourney games
They're not the most talented team in the conference anymore but there's a reason they are still one of the most consistent at advancing.

They show up ready to dish out contact and take contact.

College basketball comes down to who can be the most physical and who can let the physicality of the other team effect them the least.

90s NBA is alive and well in the NCAA.

Love to see Baylor get beat, not so much the B12 per se but I think Drew is a total scumbag. Totally dirty although I'm not sure there is such a thing anymore.

Congrats to Greg McDermott - one of Cascade, Iowa's finest! A lot of good people from Cascade...

Princeton isn’t last in their conference in defense. They are 3rd behind Yale and Harvard.
