*****Official 2025 Transfer portal thread*****

Mulder averaged 8 and 6 at Fort Wayne and is from Oskaloosa.

Buchanan averaged 5 and 5 at Virginia.

I have no idea what they were offered, or who else was after them, but I don’t think these are 7 figure players.
They need to replenish their roster. 5 guys in portal on top of guys graduating. Have only 4 guys back plus the walk on who played some minutes in the tourney. Looking at previous 2 recruiting classes 6 of 7 gone or in portal with only momcilovic left.

Yeah, but it was suggested that ISU got them because of their deep pockets.

Might not want to look at the roster of Florida and Duke. Some superstars, starters and role players that are playing major minutes are white.

We have to drop this narrative that every white player is like our white players.
Agreed, we just need GOOD players. Obviously the more athleticism the better, but Duke is one example of a great program that has often had its share of prominent white players on the roster.

With that being said, they get the highest quality of white players!
Jesus. The top c in the transfer portal was white. The top pg in the portal was white. Top 3 sg transfer was white.

2 of the top nba players are white. The #1 overall pick will be white.

What are we doing here. That dude maybe it was u, but whoever brang up race should be blocked

I will agree the American Whites are having a basketball renaissance of sorts in the NBA

I mean ya, there are obviously good white players out there for sure. But it’s hard to argue when you look at the nba and its 70% black players and 17% white 🤷‍♂️
Edit to add: i really don’t give a shit what ethnicity the players for Iowa are, as long as they buy into McCollum's style!

You're not wrong.. And I also don't necessarily care about whether we put a ton of guys in the NBA.. It would be great to get NBA-level talent (obviously!), but what I care about most is that they can be great college players.

I agree with your last sentence in particular. If McCollum is getting the guys he wants, I'm good with it whoever those players are, because I have to trust that he know what he's doing when constructing a roster.

The operative word in your post is "some."

The white population in USA is 75% and black population is 14%. IF the probabilities of being a superstar were the same by race, then there would be mostly white superstars and "some" black superstars. If you randomly observe a basketball player on the court at the P4 level and he is a superstar, more than likely he is black. Most Elite male basketball players are black--the NBA at 70.4 percent black athletes is an obvious indication of that fact.

I don't think anyone thinks just because you are black you are a good player and just because you are white you are a bad player. The vast majority of both races are not elite basketball palyers.

I don't think anyone would dispute that Freeman and Dix were good players, close to elite and fringe NBA players. Their current high NIL value proves their relative worth at the college level. The roster that Fran built around those two guys wasn't very good and didn't compensate for the deficiencies in their games--as the 7-13 B1G record showed. We had a couple really, really good white players and Fran surrounded them with meh talent and Fran was a meh coach.

I know most or all of these players have been mentioned here previously, but based on some online digging, I would expect a few players from this list to visit in the coming days:

All Wright - G - Valpo

Tyeree Bryan - G - Santa Clara

Quentin Jones - G - Northern Illinois

Gavin Walsh - F - Binghamton

Jacob Ognacevic - F - Lipscomb

BJ Omot - F - Cal

Keonte Jones - F - CSUN

Carson Towt - F - Northern Arizona

Didn't we recruit Omot out of high school? Name sounds familiar.

Yeah I’m banking on obviously the Drake players and probably a player or 2 from the MVC and a couple from some smaller/mid majors to fill out the roster.

Don’t really have favorites, just want to see who Ben can bring in and how he can translate that talent to the floor
