Everyone wants to win, but I’m focused on June 2nd forward.
It’s odd my thoughts go to when is it best to lose, but that’s where my thoughts are at. Everyone loses eventually. I know this and I have to weigh that against my optimism for the NCAA tournament.
Preach.
If Iowa loses today (and no shame in that), I still hope that Langenberg pitches well and earns a victory against Michigan tomorrow but I see little upside into burning up a bunch of arms and trying to throw Morgan on short rest, Whitlock on short rest, etc. in an effort to beat IU twice on Saturday and have a depleted and exhausted baseball trying to win a tournament championship on Sunday.
Put in the work. Let some arms (Obermueller, Savary, Simpson) see some action but don't overdo it. They'll be dancing next weekend and there's no need to go scorched earth. There's a bigger prize(s) to be won.
