Now I know the raging debate. But I feel the big ten west gets short shrift. In this thread we can debate the divisions as the season rolls along. The B1G is off to a good start as a whole with wins over Oregon State and Texas and a loss to Notre Dame. Minnesota; Iowa; Wisconsin; Ohio State; Rutgers all stripped their opponents of their manhood. Nebraska (and this weeks opponent) did not play because they are afraid of water.

Wk1
11 OOC games
B1G - 10-1 OOC (overall 11-2)
West - OOC - 4-0 (NW n Purdue played a close game with NW winning)
East - OOC - 6-1
Crossover games - none in week 1

How would you rank all the Big Ten teams just after 1 week? This does not reflect anything but my opinions after 1 week of games. I am sure it would all change again next week. I don't think Nebraska is that low but Minnesota won big and Indiana did their usual thing against a not great team. Penn St., MSU, and Michigan will all probably be higher.

1. OSU (East)
2. Wisconsin (West)
3. Northwestern (West)
4. Maryland (East)
5. Iowa (West)
6. Penn St. (East)
7. Michigan St. (East)
8. Michigan (East)
9. Purdue (West)
10. Minnesota (West)
11. Indiana (East)
12. Nebraska (West)
13. Rutgers (East)
14. Illinois (West)

Why is Nebraska ahead of Rutgers and Illinois when those two teams had Ws in week 1; Nebraska didn't even play. I think I might even put Purdue (maybe) in front of Michigan after week 1...their game with NW was a hell of a lot closer than Mich's was with ND.

We all know which B1G East team let the league as a whole down.

You referring to Michigan? We need to remember their situation. Playing Notre Dame, at Notre Dame stadium, week 1, night game. That's a tough task. Sure, they didn't look great, but maybe their opponent had something to do with making them not look great.

Most embarrassing was Penn State. They got pushed to a comeback OT win, at home, against a Sun Belt team. I don't care if it is App State, they are still a Sun Belt team.

Because Illinois looked pretty horrible. I honestly don't know why I did that to Rutgers. I guess I wasn't trying to offend the Nebraska people even more than I did. I guess I don't know why I cared.

you look at Stanford before Harbaugh... they were good...
after Harbaugh.... they're still good
that should prove Harbaugh is just hype and no show
same with Frost... Nebraska is a 6n6 program

Purdue's coach is the real deal... and what Lovie is doing is Illinois is gonna work... I expect to see improvement this year... and even more next year... he's growing that program but the way he's doing it is going to take time.

Fleck is a mess
and Rutgers , Maryland, and Indiana ain't nobody until they beat one of the top 3 in the East

you look at the top 4 in the East, I think they are all in disarray...
the West looks extra strong to me right now...
Wisconsin Iowa Northwestern are all off to a hot start.

its gonna be interesting watching these cross-division games this season.

First off Kirk is officially the best strategist of all time. He sent Eno and Darby to ASU to pick off the Spartans. And then he sent Wiegers to East Mich to dump Purdue. Two teams we recruit against quite often. Well done coach.

This week was nothing like last week

B1G overall - 9 wins -- 5 losses (west & east both have 4 undefeated teams)
West - OOC - 4-3
East - OOC - 4-1
No crossover games
For the second week in a row there was an inter-conference matchup. O$U dismantled Rutgers.

The following teams crushed their opponent:
O$U
Wisky
Ped State
Michigan
Maryland
Illinois (kinda)
