It wasn’t but I agree with @EvilMonkeyInTheCloset about her mindset. She had the ball in her hands the entire 2nd half and got way too passive. Smith got absolutely owned by Angel. She had her way with her. Smith is soft for how big she is. Angel took over the game.Still.....another good game by Clark. 17 points, 13 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The loss is in no way on her.
Probably this...Teresa Weatherspoon (Chicago) and Christie Sides (Indiana). Before she became Fever’s Head Coach, Sides was an assistant at ULM. Both played under former Techsters coach and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer, Leon Barmoregood question and I was thinking the same thing?
She’s the pt guard and had the ball in her hands on every possession. A lot of that is on her.Clark made a long three with 7:12 left in the game to put the Fever up 80-68. Clark took one more shot the entire rest of the game.... ONE SHOT! That is criminally negligent.
She needs to dribble drive. Force the action.CC couldn't shoot that. Reese was right in her face.
I agree, she has gotten too passive at times. She seems to be relying on her teammates to make some plays...unfortunately they're not, today anywayShe’s the pt guard and had the ball in her hands on every possession. A lot of that is on her.
Agree. Get something going to the rim.On that last play Clark was double teamed 35 feet from the basket and passed to an open teammate above the free throw line. She did what she could. It was a poorly designed play.
On that last play, CC dribbled to the right (up high), gave it to Boston who then gave it back to CC, Boston did not set a screen at all and instead rolled to her left. That created a double-team on CC. Mitchell and Wallace were in the corners. CC had no choice but to get the ball back to Boston for a really bad shot.
CC ended up with "just" 13 assists. The WNBA record for assists is 18.

Yep, poorly designed play which almost guaranteed that CC would be trapped. On that last play, CC dribbled to the right (up high)gave it to Boston who then gave it back to CC, Boston did not set a screen at all and instead rolled to her left. In order to try to keep the doubles off of her, the coach needs to teach players to set good hard (not moving) screens. Boston didn't even make the attempt to set one on the last play. What did Sides "draw up?"Yep, poorly designed play which almost guaranteed that CC would be trapped.
Get Clark with the ball at the top of the key, spread the floor and let her go to work.
Well she slopped in a 3 so let’s see if she ca again. Ridiculously poor coaching. In order to try to keep the doubles off of her, the coach needs to teach players to set good hard (not moving) screens. Boston didn't even make the attempt to set one on the last play. What did Sides "draw up?"
And the ref right there.Anger Trash is grabbing Erica Wheeler & hugging/holding her it looks like.
The last one to Mitchell wasn't likely to be an assist as the Sky had defenders back, but that video doesn't include the sweet pass over the top to butter fingers Mitchell. More important than scoring on long three's, CC's vision and passing are the greatest thing about her game. Her talent is truly wasted on this roster and coach.
This is how she is being coached. This is how Sides wants her to play. She’s the pt guard and had the ball in her hands on every possession. A lot of that is on her..
A play that did not have the a “spread 4” with CC dribble attacking from the top of the arc. If double teamed or the D collapses, she dishes. If not she picks her medicine with a step back, stop and pop, driving lay up, or possibly draws a foul.In order to try to keep the doubles off of her, the coach needs to teach players to set good hard (not moving) screens. Sides taking lots of heat and no wonder.T

This doesn't include the pass to EW with about 4 or 5 minutes left where she was 10 ft from the basket and absolutely freezes, and eventually turns the ball over.CC ended up with "just" 13 assists. The WNBA record for assists is 18.

This is what Sides draws up to win the game? A Boston brick?
Look at CC's face; then hit the PLAY button.
Wow. Just like, next question.
LOL. Yep. That look on CC's face is priceless. "Are you serious, coach?"This is what Sides draws up to win the game? A Boston brick?

I'd say the fever miss more than the hawks did evenWhen Iowa players struggled to catch CC's passes and finish/make lay ups, we were told it would not be nearly as big an issue in the WNBA.
We were told wrong.
There were tons of missed lay ups for both teams.
