Reese and Caitlin are not the same type of player. Not even close. Caitlin is a more complete player, while Reese excels in rebounding and put backs. She deserves credit for that.

The rivalry doesn’t exist. I think Reese’s antics at the end of the NC game in 2023 was her way of flexing in front of Caitlin, but creating a rivalry wasn’t what she had in mind. However, it was defined by the media as a rivalry, and people bought into it. And she went with it. She’s tuned into it enough to recognize that it is what keeps her at the top of the sports page. But a rivalry requires mutuality. Otherwise, it’s an obsession. That’s what exists.

Cardosa was out for quite a few games and Angel was still dominating the boards. But you’re right now adding Cardosa at 6-7 makes them a truly formidable rebounding duo.

I get frustrated when I hear the media talking about Caitlin and Angel as rivals. Usually, a rivalry involves two parties. The current situation between CC and Angel isn't a rivalry; it's one person (Angel) recognizing that the best strategy for success is to associate closely with the achievements of the other (Caitlin).

It was pretty bang-bang, but when watching it at the time I do remember thinking damn, if she hesitated like she was gonna shoot and got Cardoso coming at her at all she could have dribbled around her to the right and possibly had an open lane right to the basket, especially since she wouldn't have had to contend with Cardoso down in the paint at that point.

This thread certainly confirms that people have bought into the Caitlin and Angel rivalry. Honestly many of you are taking Angel way too personally.

I hated her behavior in the championship game and her celebration of Carter’s cheap shot but knocking Angel down doesn’t elevate Caitlin. CC doesn’t need that kind of “help.” Plus Angel is young and has a lot of time to mature and become a more gracious competitor. She’s going to be a star in the league so everyone get used to it.

Can we make this thread about Caitlin, Kate and Megan again? Please?

I made the mistake of getting on Twitter recently and even saw my old friend on @EvilMonkeyInTheCloset and it’s absolute poison.

This racial stuff has gotten out of control and the hardcore CC fans and hard core AR/haters (because some just want her to fail just because) are a sad commentary on our society.

It’s envious, hateful, petty and quite frankly hurtful. I try to be fairly impartial and listen to all sides of an issue, but there is no way in hell you could ever convince me. We have improved society with social media and the ready availability of information. Good, better indifferent.

You don't get it. She is 13 and 11 as a rookie and just outdueled our girl on a big stage. This rivalry is real and it isn't going anywhere. You all are on the wrong end of this.

Sorry , the only one she "outdueled" was Smith who's ASS she kicked up and down the court all game. Reese took the board from her EVERYTIME they were matched up , and scored on her at will. Not sure why your putting that on Clark, who had a heck of a game overall

She’s got a terrible looking shot, I’ll grant you that! However, she’s the same height as Smith from the Fever and just abused her the other night. 25 and 16. I can’t stand her offensive game but she works the glass hard. To say otherwise is just plain wrong.

Like Mitchell she often shoots her layups underhanded from her waist. I'm not sure where they learned that but its a damn low % shot compared to proper form.

I find it strange that some news sites, even sports talk radio, do not or will not report "the news" and they basically are commenting on twitter posts. that's strange. twitter is a bunch of opinions; most are wildly incorrect.

I also find it strange that when speaking of "social media", basically twitter and maybe tik tok are all we are talking about now. facebook used to be a thing, maybe it's not so much now.

I also find it strange that so many people think that "how it goes on twitter, so it goes in real life."... no, not really , folks. you are still reading crap on the webz.

I will say the W establishment (players, league, media sycophants, etc.) have managed to alienate me. I was guns blazing trying to get into the W. I am still all in on Clark, but I have zero interest in watching any other team. Sorry Kate and Meg. It's not out of spite or sticking up for Clark. They just annoy me and they want to have their cake and eat it too. People like Dawn Staley (not current W, but part of the establishment) give lip service to wanting a high tide to raise all ships, but no one of import has the emotional maturity to actually follow through on such a pragmatic outlook. If I have had it, 90% of the newfound would-be W fans have had it. What a shame.
