***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

LA has 55 points in the second half. Defense has been a big problem for the Fever this season.

there's only 144 players (12 teams x 12 players) in this league so you'd think there would be talented players out there to sign yet this is the best roster the Fever can come up with?

makes me wonder about the Fever GM, too (besides the head coach)

Those $2.00 tickets are like, standing room only seats. From what I understand you are overpaying for them at that price.

For Thursday's home game vs Seattle, $3 tickets have a section # and a row # so I assume they are actual seats.

Throw this in since Fever seems to be under the number of talent players on their team compared to the rest of the league

that's a heckuva lot of misses

Fever are last in the league in opponents points per game. Tough to run when you're inbounding all the time. Some of that is having to play Stewie and Bonner twice plus the Aces but their D is bad. Before tonight they were giving up 90.2 a game.

Too many open-look 3s for L.A.---and they were hitting on nearly everything.

Overall solid game from Clark with a nice stat line--almost perfect on her FTs. Her 3 shot has been rough for the month of May. (And nobody on that Indiana team has been shooting consistently well. )
She really needs a pull-up or floater. If she ever had one, she forgot it.

What the actual hell is that? It looks like she’s trying to go hood on CC, or trash talk her, or get ready to press her, all at the same time.
Was this the equivalent of the outfielder throwing the ball into the stands after catching the fly ball for the 2nd out?

yeah, she forgot that she had another FT attempt; I have never seen that one before

Clark has 28 points, but half of them are free throws. She's only 3-10 from three and has 7 TOs.
One of those was a bullsh!t call when she picked up her dribble in the lane and they called her for moving her pivot foot. Another was off a driving layup where she was fouled (no call) and they called it out of bounds off her.

At this point, any of her passes to worthless Wallace spotting up uncontested at the perimeter I consider to essentially be turnovers. I would much rather she try to thread the needle to players who can actually finish (Fagbenle, Boston, or Smith), even if the pass gets picked off or deflected.

I don't know the details, I just read that it's a section of the stadium that usually isn't open that they just did it because of Clark. So, my information is as good as the person who I read it from on Twitter. :p

Not a fan of Mitchell. Plays fast but doesn’t see the court well for a guard. Doesn’t do enough of the other things to offset her streaky shooting.
With Clark, she doesn't need to see the court well. She just needs to find an open spot somewhere on the three point arc and hit the three when the ball comes to her, or in her case drive to the lane if that is available. But she can play at Clark's speed which is the most important thing right now. They don't have many players that can do that. Boston isn't even there yet, but considering her improvement I'm pretty confident she will get there soon.

The player at the FT line is Aari McDonald. Aari was one of the most dynamic college players in the 20-21 season, leading Arizona to the National Championship game vs Stanford (a 1 point loss). Watched all of her games the three years at Arizona (BTW she played with Kelsey Plum at Washington her freshman season as the Huskies went to the Final Four). Aari is a hard nosed, tenacious player on both ends of the court. Playing for Adia Barnes at Arizona, she developed into an elite defender -- a two time all Pac12 Defensive player of the year as well as the leader in scoring and steals for three consecutive seasons in the Pac12. During part of tonight's game, she was guarding Clark. No doubt her job was to pick Clark up full court -- which would be instinctive for Aari because that is what she did for three years at Arizona.

Last Monday(5/20) I picked up 2 tickets in the 15th row from court for $28. Below face value tickets can be had.

throwing Caitlin under the bus sounds like a good strategy

Agreed. to me, last night (and most nights) the three biggest things leading to the loss were (none are the technical):

  1. missing wide open shots off would be Clark assists. I understand people miss shots but it seems like all of these are missed. If three more of those that’s an extra 6 to 9 points a game.
  2. Mitchell trying to finish at the rim repeatedly and failing, which are about 3 to 5 uncounted turnovers a game.
  3. Sides pulling Clark when she’s hot or the team on a run, there by killing big Mo.
