***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

When she just accepts her role she is great. When she steps outside if it things go sideways. Just do what Hannah steulke did and we’re golden.
Agree. I’m high on Temi. I think she was playing possibly the best with Caitlin early in the season, in regard to running the floor, before her first injury. I think she gets better the longer she can stay healthy. Could be a key player in the playoffs for the Fever if she continues to improves just a little.

I think a very good power forward is what this team lacks. I'm not sold on Smith. If they could draft a 4 who can shoot and Hull continues her shooting I think the Fever can win 25 games next year.
I really think Boston would be better as the 4. The games she struggles are with taller centers, so getting a new 5 and having AB feast at 4 could be better.

Still not sold on Temi.

Flashes of great then terrible.
See my post 12,592. She is flawed for sure. But she brings more consistent effort than Smith. Need to ride these 5 as hard as possible with Smith and Dantas giving you the majority of bench minutes and Wheeler as little as you must to spell Caitlin/Kelsey. I cringe every time KLS steps on the court.

Samuelson will hopefully get picked in the expansion draft which would get the Fever out of that contract (unless there's some strange WNBA rule). Hull had her option year for 25 already picked up. Smith has trade value but I'm not convinced the GM knows what she's doing. Releasing Celeste Taylor who was on a cheap rookie deal when the Fever need someone to play perimeter defense was a terrible decision IMO, especially with how she's played for Phoenix.
Phoenix at one point was down to like 9 healthy players. I would have liked to have kept Taylor and dropped Berger or Wallace but she wasn’t going to be an impact player for the Fever.

I know they will play to win but I would like us to draw the sun in the first round, however that works out. Minnesota has our number.
The one thing that worries me about Connecticut is that if the Fever could steal one on the road, I seriously don’t think it’s beneath either Thomas or Carrington to physically take Caitlin out. In fact, I’d be expecting it.

Sides addressed CC's complaining to refs in today's post game presser. She said CC is one of the fiercest competitors she's ever seen but said she needs to emotionally get herself under control when she perceives the officiating not going her way. She implied that it sometimes affects her game - ie., not getting back on defense, etc. She said that she's working with her to control this problem.

It would be different if defense makes a play, but about half of them are just sloppy on her part. As a point guard 101 you have to value the ball every possession.
For the 1000th time, put that halter on Clark and you won't get half of the unbelievable assists she gets. A lot of her assists, the passes wouldn't even be attempted by most players. You get both ends of the spectrum from Clark because she is fearless, and unapologetic. Again if you took away the bullshit ones on bad catches etc.. they wouldn't be that bad. I also had no idea that they record a shot clock violation or offensive foul as a turnover. That has to be added in as well. Could she cut down on a few, sure, but if you start changing her mindset on what is and what is not a good pass, you'd never see the Clark were seeing now. Just another reason there's never been a player in the NCAA or the WNBA who's doing what she is doing. I guess if you'd like you can focus on the negative, but that seems senseless given what she's doing.....

I agree with Coach about CC's passionate dissention with the officials, but she continually throws players under the bus while not accepting any accountability for her coaching decisions.

I agree, if she can run the floor for the “get aheads”.
Boston is always doubled or tripled in the post, so she has to pass out of it. Some times she forces and gets by with it, but she can work on passing out before it's too late. But, if Coach wants the guards to keep sending it in, then, what do you do? I agree, she could maybe have success at the 4.

I think moving Boston to the 4 would be a mistake. She's not going to be able to defend Stewart, Wilson, Ogwumike, Bonner, Sabally, or Collier on the perimeter. She just doesn't have the quickness. Putting another big at the 5 will kill the pace & space game which is where Indiana excels.

Cc needs only 53 points to break the rookie total season points record.

CC only needs 12 assists to break the single season assists record set by Thomas last year.
CC also leads the WNBA in Made 3s but Ogundowale is right behind her with one less game played.

She's in good company in the turnover stat. The NBA top 6 turnover leaders are: LeBron, Westbrook, Karl Malone, Moses Molone, Stockton and Kobe.

But watching her make them just drives me crazy.
Exactly. Hell of a list of players. All HOF players correct? You suppose that people complained about their turnovers, or accepted them for their mastery? Even here, on this website, people can't see the forest for the trees when it comes to Clark. She's just different. You take the little bit of bad with the enormous amount of great, and yet some want to focus on the bad. Nothing new under the sun....

I respect this take. You would have to have the right “5” to make it work like Sabally or Jones. Who in the W can really guard Wilson? Also Hull was primary defender on Collier and Ogwumike this week. The goal would be to optimize more of Bostons bad matchups, or at least give more roster flexibility.
