May be a dumb statement, but honestly to a degree, I buy into some of your thoughts that she’s probably got tired legs. I don’t think her shot will really get on until next year but she’s playing super hard. She’s had multiple three-pointers rim in and out and like the announcer said they scored enough points… However, we shot 40%. They shot 57% ….5 more stops five more makes and we win.

Easier said than done🤷‍♂️

LA is getting clobbered by 18 points at Chicago tonight. The are 4-16 from three.

No offensive plays, just sitting around at the perimeter. Completely inept on defense, consistently burned by any drawn up play. Most players couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. Just a miserable effort.

But remember, none of this is a coaching issue. Sides is the best of the best.

I side with Sides.

Don’t just be an ass, there has not been ONE person that has said that. She definitely isn’t coaching them to leave wide-open three-pointers on the perimeter, she isn’t coaching them to miss layup after layup and wide-open shot after wide open shot…

She may not be a good coach, but this shit show may not be capable of being helped🤷‍♂️

Yeah, let’s run a double team blitz trap at her at half court with us up 25 and she having played 37 minutes. Force that seventh turnover, yeah!

This league can honestly go f*ck itself.
But, but, but . . . WNBA women are tough.

At least that appears to be the theme they’re going with. And everyone seems to be in on it. Except the fans.

I have to agree with you. There's only so much the coach can do. She and her assistants develop the game plans. If the players go out there and s--t all over the plan, then it's on them. I'm not however giving Sides a pass, as she is ultimately responsible for the results. She can definitely do a better job of game management. Her rotations have been erratic at times, her timeouts could be used better and not wait for big runs to happen, etc.
I'm sure Lin Dunn is on top of what's been going on, and if changes are deemed necessary, then only time will bear that out. But, yes, a large part of responsibility falls on the shoulders of her players.

Look at this practice clip where the guard that doubles from the top of the key then has to run from the post all the way back to the opposite wing. There is no way anyone can close out on that.

Ha. Funny to hear Bardo announcing a women's game in May, but that's cool.

So Reese rallied with two late buckets for six points tonight, so that's nice for her ...

CC is getting beat on defense at times. But her teammates are leaving her out on an island a lot defensively too. Not communicating to her about screens coming. Not hedging the ball handler when she gets screened a bunch of the time. Not quick enough to hedge and recover. As a whole their individual players are not good defenders and their team defensive philosophy is even worse which is on the coach.

Offensively the ball doesn’t move enough. There’s too much standing and watching rather than moving the ball inside and out along with swinging it from one side to the other. They also are in love with pulling their big out well beyond the 3pt line to screen for CC, but then the big is too far away from the hoop to really do much of anything. Those are coaching problems. On the player side, many players can’t hit wide open shots or layups and the hero ball also hurts. They had a shot clock violation in the first half because Mitchell decided to spend 10 seconds showing off her dribble skills going no where.

Great post.

And I didn’t even see tonight’s game but this describes every other game I’ve seen from them so far this year.

Don't think playing Clark all but 4 seconds in a blowout loss with their 2nd back to back coming up this weekend was smart. I know some seem to think she should never come out but with the early schedule, this seems crazy. Is it that hard to figure out how to get her to around 35 minutes?
What was the benefit of playing any of the starters after the 5 minute mark in the 4th? The Fever have played more games than any other team. This was a lost cause, get some rest.
