Sides was responsible for absolutely none of the turnaround. CC getting her legs under her was everything. They won games in spite of Sides.Sorry, @Bro D , looks like the FEVE beLEVE in Christie Sides!
After an 1-8 start, the Fever finished the regular season 19-12.

She'll cost them games next season and will be fired.
Doesn't sound like Sides is going anywhere.....I didn’t listen to Krauskopf’s whole interview, but I’ve seen this same sentiment all over on Twitter.
Still time. Krauskopf might be shopping around. The one thing that really bothers me is the officials. If they keep the same ones, we're looking at a repeat of this year.Doesn't sound like Sides is going anywhere.....
For the refs, they need do to the "points of emphasis" thing where they make the refs call fouls for hand checking and freedom of movement infractions. Also, i would like them to do away with their rules where if you make contact with a ball on a block, you are free to finish/follow through the play by continuing down with your arm hitting someone in the head. If the refs won't call the fouls, maybe give the coaches like 10 challenges where the play is reviewed at headquarters and not the game. I am being somewhat facetious on the former, but believe they should do the latter.Still time. Krauskopf might be shopping around. The one thing that really bothers me is the officials. What if "Headquarters" is in on it? And, if you think challenges are taking too long now...just wait. For the refs, they need do to the "points of emphasis" thing where they make the refs call fouls for hand checking and freedom of movement infractions. Yeah I said I was joking on the 10 challenges. Mostly. I think having a dedicated review center with access to all of the feeds will speed up review and make it better/more uniform. It has worked well for the Big 10, NFL, etc. What if "Headquarters" is in on it? And, if you think challenges are taking too long now...just wait.
After watching my first W season, I must admit that the refs (and I use that word loosely) have made my experience a stinky brown one. Cathy Engelbert needs to do her job and clean up this mess.Yeah I said I was joking on the 10 challenges. Mostly. Not just impeded or grabbed. If I want to watch eye pokes, clotheslines, and all of the other atrocities, I can watch Pro Wrestling lol.The necessary officiating/rule changes won't likely occur, and it's a shame. No fun watching potential playmakers impeded or grabbed. Hopefully someday they will get it.

Sure, but this in entity losing 50 million dollars again this season. Expecting them to upgrade tech or officiating talent is probably wishful thinking. I guess we can hope....Yeah I said I was joking on the 10 challenges. Mostly. I know this was meant as a compliment... but it really isn't once you think about it lol
Taken in context, She has been there from the get-go and has done well as a player, is a great teammate, and has been a good representative of the club.I know this was meant as a compliment... but it really isn't once you think about it lol
I believe she came in as a rookie in 2017, so AFTER their last playoff game and has only been part of their extended collapse. I think her being a "great team mate" is up for debate, at least initially this season. Early in the year she seemed distant with CC22 and when ever she she got her hands in the ball that was the last anyone would see of it. As the season progressed either the coaches got her straight, or she figured out that Clark would provide her even better opportunities then her going one on one all the time. At tis point I'd say she figured it out.Taken in context, She has been there from the get-go and has done well as a player, is a great teammate, and has been a good representative of the club.
That's the beauty of the game. Players get it figured out.As the season progressed either the coaches got her straight, or she figured out that Clark would provide her even better opportunities then her going one on one all the time. At tis point I'd say she figured it out.
Some do, and some don't. Smith still has her head up her ass. I don't think she realizes how much damage she may have done to her career by playing footsie with her girl, (on the other team) during a playoff series , to the point where the coach had to banish her, (a starter) from even playing in the game at all, other a couple of minutes because she couldn't trust her. I would think a lot of teams would pass on ever signing her to play, unless the Sun want to go there. That's the beauty of the game. Players get it figured out.
I don't think she intentionally sabotaged those games - I just think her basketball IQ is comically low and it was on display for 42 games. Sides benched her earlier in the season for a reason, and if Temi would stayed healthy I believe it would have stayed that way all season. Some do, and some don't. Smith still has her head up her ass. You have a point, but the coach should be a force multiplier, and provide an edge in a game rather than disadvantage. And sometimes, a team can win despite bad coaching through superior talent, and not win because because the superior talent could not overcome bad coaching. So coach gets blame for losses but no credits for win. A Joke .
What about the games they won when they didn’t have superior talent? Who gets the credit in those situations? You have a point, but the coach should be a force multiplier, and provide an edge in a game rather than disadvantage. So then Caitlin’s at fault when they lost to teams that didn’t have as much talent.Caitlin.
non sequitur. They can lose for a host of reasons she can’t cure.So then Caitlin’s at fault when they lost to teams that didn’t have as much talent.
And they win for reasons beyond just Caitlin.non sequitur. They can lose for a host of reasons she can’t cure.
of course - she only is 1 of 5 on the floor. But they really don’t win against better teams unless she makes it happen. And they win for reasons beyond just Caitlin.
And NY loses on... A missed layup.Wildest game I've ever seen
Minnesota was down 15 with 5 minutes left. They get a 4 point play to go up 1 with 5 seconds left. Stewart with .8 left. Goes 1 for 2 and now we are heading to overtime
I get it, a lot of people don’t like Christie Sides, but there aren’t a lot of great coaches in the WNBA. It seems every coach that people think are really good are the ones that have really good rosters. Give me three or four Olympians on my roster in a 12 team league and I’ll win a lot of games. Seems to me the only coach who won a lot of games with a pretty weak roster was Christie Sides. So if you want to give all the credit for those wins to Clark then they don’t really need a coach so there’s no use getting rid of Sides.of course - she only is 1 of 5 on the floor. But they really don’t win against better teams unless she makes it happen.
