I need details! Mainly, how long was the hole? They both took really easy swings, especially Lexi.
Lexi has hitched her wagon to the right star. I imagine her life is pretty incredible being easy on the eyes, being an elite athlete in her own right, and living in Caitlin's glow.I need details! Mainly, how long was the hole? They both took really easy swings, especially Lexi.
Looks like Caitlin backed it up a fraction and a foot or so towards the hole. Impressive. But why did she putt before Lexi who was a little farther away? Because she's ... Caitlin Clark, lol?
Cool they enjoy each other's company so much. And fall golf is awesome, btw.
People on this board are absolutely insane. Never seen anything like it.Lexi has hitched her wagon to the right star. I imagine her life is pretty incredible being easy on the eyes, being an elite athlete in her own right, and living in Caitlin's glow.
Go on.People on this board are absolutely insane. Never seen anything like it.
That is one weird take. Glow/penumbra/orbit/zone of crazy attention, take your pick. She's in it.No, I believe I'll just live in your glow.
Is this directed at me? If so, what did I type that was dismissive? Hitching a wagon to her star? No one but the most hard core W fans would know who Lexi is but for Caitlin being on the Fever. They're friends so she gets to do cool shit with Caitlin, like getting pulled up on stage during a concert. It's not like she's friends with her for that reason, but being Caitliln's friend has benefits (no, not those kinds of benefits). Getting those opportunities is being in her glow/aura/penumbra/orbit/halo/pick your word.Naww dude, that is so dismissive. And you wonder why CC fans get a bad rap? There you go.
Yup, that is definitely why they get a bad rap…….. probably not in the top 50 reasonsNaww dude, that is so dismissive. And you wonder why CC fans get a bad rap? There you go.
Dismissive?Naww dude, that is so dismissive. And you wonder why CC fans get a bad rap? There you go.
Dismissive of the friendship, sure. Just don't imagine if you were to ask Hull if she is enjoying life living in Caitlin Clark's glow you would get a glowing reaction. It's a "dis" any way you want to frame it.Dismissive?
I'm guessing you are meaning to say it's dismissive of their friendship to suggest that Lexi is in it just for the trappings that go along with Caitlin's super stardom. But I don't think TE said that or even implied it. He mostly just credited Lexi.
And Caitlin's fans get a "bad rap" from the malcontents for pointing out their racism and hostility. The W is just simply trying to turn the charges back around on to the fans. So weak and transparent, actually.
The anti Caitlin crowd has spent the last couple years disparaging CCs game, her college records, her WNBA potential, her rookie records and her overall impact on the game. Now they have nothing left to disparage but her fans. How dare this uppity Iowa girl and her entourage of 3 star teammates and bucolic cow tipping fans eliminate elite Geno/Dawn/Kim teams out of the NCAA tournament? How dare her fans think their their girl is somehow better than players from those elite teams?Dismissive of the friendship, sure. Just don't imagine if you were to ask Hull if she is enjoying life living in Caitlin Clark's glow you would get a glowing reaction. It's a "dis" any way you want to frame it.
And sure, only one of many greater reasons that might contribute to a negative image of Clark fans. It's a larger discussion, and much of it circles back on itself, and it can be maddening, but right or wrong, there IS a negative image that is out there. It's really easy not to give it fuel.
Well - and this is just friendly banter, btw - but I don't think that would be the corresponding question though. How about something more like "Lexi, you're an elite athlete, young and attractive and now a direct witness to the glow (stardom, phenomenon, etc) of CC ... I imagine life must be pretty incredible for you now?" Admittedly, that question would be better from a female than say ... Gregg Doyel, lol.Dismissive of the friendship, sure. Just don't imagine if you were to ask Hull if she is enjoying life living in Caitlin Clark's glow you would get a glowing reaction. It's a "dis" any way you want to frame it.

Jesus you are a sensitive lotDismissive of the friendship, sure. Just don't imagine if you were to ask Hull if she is enjoying life living in Caitlin Clark's glow you would get a glowing reaction. It's a "dis" any way you want to frame it.

And you sound just like the Andraya Carters and Monicca McNutts of world. They too have voiced the same lament multiple times, despite having waded waist deep right into all the crap themselves. Carter, fwiw, is demanding the lone Angel voter's identity currently in a titanic flip-flop on the ROTY. Nice credibility there. Both WNBA fans and Caitlin Clark fans are at fault. Everyone is behaving as if the future of our culture rests upon the the outcome of this argument instead of, and I know this is crazy but stick with me....enjoying a game.
Was just thinking the same thing. JFC, we’re getting ourselves in a tizzy about a few Iowa fans making reference to Lexi Hull having fun with Caitlin Clark? Really?Jesus you are a sensitive lot
I agree with all of that. Caitlin continues to make all detractors of her game look foolish. The purely basketball discussion certainly flows into the rest of it, but in a way, it's also separate from the issues that have existed in the WNBA and have now come to the surface with Clark's stardom. It's ugly. The anti Caitlin crowd has spent the last couple years disparaging CCs game, her college records, her WNBA potential, her rookie records and her overall impact on the game. I mean, hopefully nobody is asking such a question, but perhaps Hull would be acknowledging something about Clark's life in answers about herself.Well - and this is just friendly banter, btw - but I don't think that would be the corresponding question though. Also, I would say it's really HARD to not give fuel to the WNBA'S rantings when an extremely legitimate question by a renowned journalist, who is female and a feminist, sends the PA off the tracks.
And at the end of the day, this is just internet blather. If fans were being ugly at the games or elsewhere there would be cellphone footage of it. What have they got so far, one loner outside a hotel making a comment or a question? Good grief.
Says the guy who called the state of Indiana racist. lolBoth WNBA fans and Caitlin Clark fans are at fault. Everyone is behaving as if the future of our culture rests upon the the outcome of this argument instead of, and I know this is crazy but stick with me....enjoying a game.
If you look for it in every situation you can always find it.I agree with all of that. Caitlin continues to make all detractors of her game look foolish. But... It's possible to talk up Clark and be a fan without talking down teammates and other stars, or framing every basketball adjacent conversation through the aura of Caitlin Clark. Clark's game will continue to do the talking.
Regardless again, and right or wrong, there is still a narrative that CC fans are stuck with, and unfairly stained by from the worst of it.
Never in a million years did I think my post would spark such a negative reaction. I said she was an amazing athlete in her own right. In retrospect, "hitched her wagon to a star" can have a negative connotation, but I meant it more like "formed a friendship with the right person" in a serendipitous sense. They are roughly the same age and apparently have a lot of shared interests, so it is only natural that they are friends. With that friendship comes really cool opportunities that Lexie would not otherwise get, and exposure for social media/marketing. It just is what it is. I find fans of the W to be a little too sensitive for my tastes and not enjoyable to interact with having to parse and chose words so carefully. People just seem to want to be offended. See you all when there is something substantive to talk about. If you look for it in every situation you can always find it.
You may be trying just a bit to hard to perpetuate the ‘ugly CC fan’ story.
Much of that story is driven by very casual fans or the anti AR portion of the fan base. The faux outrage over the ‘glow of CC’ is a bit of a reach. That comment isn’t even a sliver of the ‘ugly CC fan’ activity. Not sure why it appears to hit a nerve for you.
My wife said a similar thing.Never in a million years did I think my post would spark such a negative reaction. I said she was an amazing athlete in her own right. No outrage here. And I'm not "trying" anything. I merely said i thought it was dismissive to Hull and that shared friendship, and then we had a discussion about why that may or may not be so. It's maybe too easy to consider everything a courtroom of judgement when really it's just conversation, and i think it's been even-handed. Sensitivity goes both ways?If you look for it in every situation you can always find it.

I love Kelsey's smile.
Somehow we will be to blame for a Liberty "fan" doing psychotic things. So not Iowa bb related but what's the story on the player that received death threats via email????
Breana Stewart? Probs spelled that wrong.
Would we call this the CC Effect?
Can't believe people took the W this serious in prior years.
Somehow we will be to blame for a Liberty "fan" doing psychotic things.
Careful - wondergrapes et al will be along shortly to admonish you.Thought the same damn thing. No joke.
It’s the only time he has any desire to post. LolCareful - wondergrapes et al will be along shortly to admonish you.
Mulkey has won every place she has been. While she's extremely unlikable, she's got 4 natty's. Talent or not that's pretty damn good. You could say that about a LOT of coaches. I mean is Kim Mulkey a "great coach" or a great recruiter? She had both Naylissa Smith at Baylor and Angel Reese at LSU. Both good athletes who have VERY limited skill sets. How much did they get, "coached up"?
I'd have to agree mostly about Sides. The biggest issue is the roster. Just too much dead weight on the bench to compete with the top teams. Thats not on the HC.
I've also made the same comment about college football. Was Meyer a great coach at OSU, or Day? How hard can it be to recruit there? And frankly when you have basically an NFL roster loaded with high 4 stars and 5 star players, how do you not beat pretty much every one you play? Great coaching, or just better resources?
