***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

Liberty and the Aces are both to big and deep for us to compete with them currently. That’s a nice Big 3 but we’re way too small and not deep enough to truly compete for a championship yet. Have to figure out the 4 (please God not Smith) backup to Boston, (losing Temi hurts ) and while I think Lexie can start and keep getting better we need another Small Forward to play 15-18 minutes. All pretty big pieces. I think CC will only be better under an experienced coach and she looks much bigger and stronger. Just need to keep adding pieces.

This is who ESPN has Indiana drafting in their mock draft:

8th pick, Indiana Fever: Aneesah Morrow

LSU | Small Forward | 6-1 | Senior

Morrow has been an exceptional scorer and rebounder in her college career, which started at DePaul and will finish at LSU. But there is concern about her size and what her most effective position will be in the WNBA. Plus, she has shot 24.3% from 3-point range in college. Still, there is a lot of potential for Morrow as a player who could run the floor well and be another target for Caitlin Clark's passes.

I think that would be a mistake. Doesn't bring anything they need.

On the fence. She plays a lot bigger than 6-1. Great rebounder and can run the floor.

Honestly if she drops to 8th they’ll gobble her up, this is the 1st Mach I’ve seen her dropping this low. I confess I thought she was closer to 6-3 than 6-1 but they need forwards or combo 3/4s not another guard. Assuming they keep Mitchell.

She's the best 3/4 in the draft and that's what the Fever need. The players likely to go ahead of her are guards and 5s (less a priority for Fever). Napheesa Collier is also 6'1" - so not a big deal.

Yes. She drops because of more sexy guard/5 picks. She could end up the best player in the draft.

Two things… First I apologize for making a snap judgment on things I had no clue whether you said awhile back. As confusing as that just sounded lol

Second, Collier is a better shooter from three right now, but I do think the comparison is somewhat apt. She’s a ++ athlete, that is a dominant rebounder somewhat in the vein of Angel Reese. Probably not that dominant because Angel truly has a gift, but this girl has Fantastic touch around the rim and is faster, smoother with a better outside jumper. Much better actually, it would be hard not to be “better“ than Angels lol and although she’s not shooting a ton of three-pointers, she is at 45% this year 5 of 11.

I honestly can’t see her dropping that low, but if she does, that is an absolute gift.

Again, I’m not that cracked up on any of the guards they have going in the 1st round outside of Bueckers. I’m not terribly interested in sub 6 foot guards.

Miles from Notre Dame is pretty special but she’s still 5-10, the girl in South Carolina doesn’t do a great deal for me nor the girl from Texas, nor Azzi Fudd. Quite frankly, I think it’s a mystery Fudd is projected in the top five. Hell I think she’s only played 42 games in her college career.

I had hoped the 6-6 girl from France could drop to us, but she keeps moving up the board or Sedona Price from TCU although she’s a massive head case.

In my humble opinion, including PB, Kiki Iriafen is the best player in the draft. Im convinced they’re going 3/4 and up. The only way they go guard is if Kelsey Mitchell moves on.

There’s some pretty good 6ft European guards, but if memory serves, most of them have been locked up in the last draft or two and they just haven’t come overseas yet.

No problem on the first item

It looks like Morrow likely will go before #8. I don't know if anyone wants to deal with Prince - she might be a psycho.

I forgot Shannaye Sellers at 6-2 w/great length and defense ia an option that should be available. (Not a great shooter but very versatile)And this girl, Ajsa Sivka from I think Slovenia is getting a lot of buzz, but I believe she’s only 19 and I think European players do have to be 20. But there’s plenty of speculation she’s gonna go top 10 regardless on upside. I’m thinking we’ll need a player for next year though depending on how free agency goes.

Aneesa Morrow would be awesome. A tough scorer with quick hands and plus defender.
6"1. Not much of an outside threat.

I've only seen her play once this year, and didn't do much that game, and Iowa seemed to handle her pretty well last March.

A pretty good player doesn't really move the needle from what they currently have. Gotta draft someone, I suppose.

CC called white bread. These lady’s are so ridiculously racist.

Caitlin Clark called “white bread”.
The fact that nobody in the black community calls this behavior out, says it all. Can you imagine is some white journalist called Aja an "aunt jemima? They'd be out of a job that very day, and that is without question.

Have you paid attention at all this year? There is a large population of the WNBA that feels entitled to money and fame, but doesn’t want all of these “new” fans watching and commenting on the style of play.
I have been. They want the viewership and clicks but they want to claim them as theirs and on their terms. Of course, that’s not how it works.

Apparently, playing in a hugest market in the big ten is now a negative, if you’re not Caitlin Clark.

Hmm, of the 3.2MM people in the state, probably 1/3 don’t care about sports. And another 1/4 of the remaining are the portion of ISU fans that won’t root for a Hawkeye. So the 1.5MM remaining Iowans are the reason that her games had 18MM people watching?

LA alone has over 18MM people in the metro. If she was a must watch player, she’d do just fine.

I do think the article is half right. Part of her allure is that she stayed home and took the underdog against the biggest blue bloods and damn near won it all twice.

People will just never understand the allure of Clark. I just saw on Twitter the Elite 8 game highlights against LSU again yesterday. It's not only the 42 points she got but the breakneck speed and fearlessness she played with. Oh, and just casually dropping 28 foot bombs from all over the court and incredible passes in transition. JuJu is a really nice player. But she plays no differently than many of the other really really good players before her. She's not must watch TV. And they're half right about her playing in LA. I mean even for their biggest home game of the year against Notre Dame, who I'm sure had a few thousand fans there as well they only had a little over 7K in attendance in an arena that seats 10K. Watch a mens game at SC in that arena. What an awful environment. It makes Carver seem like Hilton Coliseum!

If caitlin wasn’t amazing, no one would care, just like everyone before her. For LA, if you are a star it is the largest stage. See, e.g., otahni, magic, LeBron, Kobe, and Shaq. If Caitlin played for USC and did what she did at Iowa, she would be as big of or bigger star than she is now.

I didn't notice an attitude problem so much as a skill and motor problem. There are better options out there.
She has 1 good game out of 4-5. Does things she shouldn't/can't do in those games.

Think she will gets a sit down with the new coach of expectations and her buying in or finding a new team.

It sure seemed to me like she was stoned at times during her games when it was like “WTF was that???” Hopefully a new sheriff in town, along with now not having to implicitly be a part of the crowd begrudging Caitlin, can get the most out of considerable natural talent. She could be amazing, with the right attitude and effort.

I don't believe that, especially being that talented. And in regard to @doughuddl2 I'm assuming the new coach has already had some sort of talks w/her already, even w/her being in China. I still just don't see any way we can bring her back. The relationship w/Carrington is especially troublesome I would think to the entire organization. Especially w/the way CC and her compete against each other. She has to go.

Yeah, I really struggle with that whole concept of a player having a boyfriend/girlfriend on the other team. It truly seems like a significant conflict of interest to me.
