Crazy thing is that you watch this, see improvement in skills, and then realize she still has room to grow. Still doesn’t seem confident in her left hand at the rim.

But the last shot was a step back to her right, which is something we haven’t really seen. In the past she stepped back to her left for a shot and went to her right for a drive. They’re working on breaking those tendencies, which is awesome. When she can both drive and step back both directions, how do you guard her?

I am really glad she gave the middle finger to Unrivaled and worked on her game (and having fun off the court), instead.

I am guessing hanging out with Taylor Swift in a suite is a lot of fun, too.

You don’t. You get destroyed.

Well, she is, but is it your contention she consistently finishes with her left hand when appropriate? Caitlin is 99.9% awesome, but there are things to improve on. She had her shot blocked a few times when I don't think it would have been if she used the correct hand. Then again, maybe she is so right-hand dominant that her finishing percentage would go down finishing with her left when going left. Either way she's obviously more than just fine. Just an observation.
If you watched some of the workout videos the last few weeks with CC22 and the coaches she was shooting even 8 ft shots from the left side with her left hand, and made almost every one. NNow if she does that in the game, we'll see, but she can make shots from that side with her left hand.

Chennedy Carter is pretty talented and a good scorer. I wonder if it is possible for her mentally to come off the bench for the Fever to spell Clark and Mitchell, and not be a cancer in the locker room... With Stephanie White as coach, and caitlin and kelsey being stars, maybe?
There was some internet smoke about this, but I just don't see that working. She's been basically expelled from two different teams for being disruptive in the locker room, or toxic. I also don't see her being okay with being a full time back up. Neither Clark or Mitchell sit that much.

Maybe could be a Rodman to Jordan and pippen?

Unrivaled debut outpaces non-Caitlin Clark WNBA games on cable

The debut of the new women’s basketball league Unrivaled outpaced the average audience for non-Caitlin Clark WNBA games on cable last season.

In the debut of the new 3×3 women’s basketball league Unrivaled, TNT and truTV averaged a combined 313,000 viewers for Lunar Owls-Mist and 311,000 for Vinyl-Owls Friday night. The games rank as the most-watched women’s basketball telecasts ever on the TNT Sports networks, which have primarily carried only women’s college games. The previous high was set by a Colorado-LSU women’s college game in November 2023 (184K).

Viewership peaked at 364,000 in the 8:15 PM ET quarter-hour.

Excluding games involving Clark, who is not participating in Unrivaled, Friday’s doubleheader outpaced by nearly 50 percent the average WNBA game on cable during last year’s regular season (ESPN, ESPN2 and NBA TV), to say nothing of the NWSL or Pro Volleyball Federation.

Compared to other recent debuts, Unrivaled trailed the first TGL golf event on ESPN earlier this month (919K).

Notably, Unrivaled averaged more viewers on the TNT networks Friday night than the network’s NHL doubleheader did two nights earlier (292K). (Keep in mind the NHL doubleheader in question aired earlier than usual.)

Founded by WNBA players Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, Unrivaled is a 3×3 league featuring six teams of six players each. In addition to the two founders, the debut telecast included Chicago Sky F Angel Reese.

Absolutely hilarious that this is NOW the reference point. NON Caitlin Clark games. Lolol.. Just admit that without CC22 these gals are right back to where they were before she arrived......

I cannot wait to see what she can do in year 2.

"The worm" knew his role and accepted that was his niche. Not many players are like that. There is too much history of Carter being a cancer on every team she's on. Would be a BAD move for the Fever..
Probably right. I just have this feeling the fever are going to strike out with sabally due to ties to NY with her sister and ionescu. Unless the new staff can make smith more disciplined and a better defender, we have a problem at the 4. The more I think about it, I could see white bringing in thomas and Bonner on 1-year deals. Bonner is old but she is really good and could be great at the 3. Thomas is old and can’t shoot with her shoulders but she can still pass and rebound, obviously. Could be Rodman type additions in terms of bringing high levels of specific skill sets, while not needing for ego purposes the need to be the top scorer.

Plum got traded for Jewell Lloyd. Plum is better but gotta make queen Wilson happy

Plum is a small guard who is a streaky shooter and can't guard a traffic cone. She's a poor man's version of Kelsey Mitchell, there's a reason why Vegas wanted her gone.
IMO you are way off. Loyd is a better defender but nothing to write home about. Loyd is probably the most inefficient player in the W. Plum is a fantastic team player and a much better shooter, passer, playmaker and much more efficient. Loyd requires the ball in her hands to be effective and she does it with alarmingly bad efficiency. I don't see her game translating to a team that wins when Young and Wilson have the ball in their hands.

Maybe I'm wrong but we'll see. I suspect LA wins significantly more games this year and LV continues to tread water but I'll eat crow if I'm wrong! :)

Love this for Plum. Doesn't have to share the spotlight with the other Vegas all-star guards, and I imagine relocating to L.A. might end up giving her some different opportunities outside of basketball. She has that kind of charisma.

Unrivaled sees expected dip in week two

The new women’s basketball league Unrivaled is averaging 194,000 viewers across TNT and truTV through two weeks, with that average rising to 238,000 when truTV-exclusive games are excluded.

Coverage on Monday night averaged 166,000 on TNT/truTV (Laces-Rose: 192K; Lunar Owls/Vinyl: 134K), down 10% from the prior Monday window — which had a lead-in from an NBA Martin Luther King Day doubleheader, but also faced tougher competition from the CFP National Championship and Inauguration Day (184K).

Saturday coverage averaged 98,000 on truTV alone (Lunar Owls-Phantom: 118K; Mist-Rose: 76K), on par with the prior week (100K).

Going back to last Friday, coverage on TNT/truTV averaged 281,000 (Vinyl-Laces: 289K; Mist-Phantom: 274K) — down 10% from the prior week, with the obvious caveat that it was the debut telecast (313K). The two Friday windows account for the league’s four most-watched games.
