***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

Hannah's limitations will not allow her to be a 1st round pick. Her height is SF/PF level. But she doesn't have SF/PF skills for ball handling, shooting, and defense. She brings plus athleticism, but at the pro level you typically have to partner that with skills.

Getting and keeping a roster spot will be difficult for her unless she can improve her 3pt% up to ~30-35. While she's shown an ability to increase her FT% every season she's a career 22% 3pt shooter at Iowa with no improvement shown, so that doesn't look to be in her future.

Or maybe she magically gains another 2-3" of height over the next year.
All valid points. I would say though there is proof of concept that she can catch and convert Caitlin's longest and hottest dimes, which could be worth 10 points a game. If I'm the fever she is worth my 12th slot, as compared to some of their current players who never play.

With Stephanie White as coach, I think we see fairly quickly that Katie Lou, Grace Berger, and Victoria Saxton are much better players than we thought.
It looks like KLS is doing pretty well in unrivaled, and is rebounding physically from all that goes into be pregnant and giving birth. Hopefully last season was an outlier for what she can do.

The Fever management get it.

Does anyone find it interesting that with the record amount of reshuffling of head coaches, and thereby also assistant coaches, that Christie Sides didn’t manage to find a new job in the WNBA?

Maybe the front offices believed us when we said she was in over her head coaching at that level.

At 6ft1, Morrow is a very good PF rebounder and a decent scorer but her shooting range is really limited (career 25% 3PT).

Similarities seem to indicate that Hannah Stuelke should project 1st Rd as well.
Did you just insinuate that Hannah Stuelke is on the same level as Aneesa Morrow?

Supposedly, the Fever GM has been spending a fair amount of time in Europe. Gabby Williams? Emma Messeman? Elena Delle Donne? Probably wishful thinking...

Could the Fever trade Nalyssa Smith for Maybrey?
The more I reflect, the more I think a Maybrey could trade be in the works. I have heard no rumors but she played for White last year, she could be traded for Smith now that we have Howard, Smith can play with her girlfriend, and enough cap space would be freed up while getting another great 3 point shooter. That would leave one slot for a rookie to make the team.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE FEVER and @EvilMonkeyInTheCloset ???? ;)

Natasha (6'2 forward) turned 33 on Sep 2nd.

Last season, in 27 games played, she averaged 17.6 pts, 6.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and .8 blocks. She shot 46% from the field, 20% from three, and 72% from the FT line.

Thing I like best is she has won defensive POY. She is exactly what this team needs at the 4. In retrospect, she might actually provide this particular version of the Fever with more value than Sabally would have. I would have loved to have her, don't get me wrong, but having a tough surehanded 4 that plays great defense, rebounds, and does not play like a moron on offense is what we were missing most last year.

Sounds like Sabally was not interested. Id keep N Smith now …howard was terrible last year. Maybe they draft a productive forward in the draft as well at 8. I would sign a good defensive guard now with remaining money ….a few available and like the guard from the Lynx.
17.6 pts, 6.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and .8 blocks is terrible? Smith was inconsistent, at best.

this is a fun read. Looks like she prioritized being recognized and work ethic. Her fame has instantly skyrocketed and she hasn’t even signed yet. Thanks Caitlin. Also wants hard workers as teammates who don’t half ass it. Thanks Caitlin. Also big was the simple act of kindness of Kelsey Mitchell telling her happy birthday. Pumped up about this addition.

Also, this was interesting: “I’ve been counting down the days to announce where I’m going next. To Fever fans: I’m excited.” Maybe this has been in the works for awhile and the fever or satou or both eliminated one another.

To get Sabally, Indy would have had to give up a couple of players and/or draft picks. Not the case with Howard. Maybe gives Indy a little more flexibility.
