Meh, maybe. It’s easy in hindsight, but Smyly pitched a clean 4th and had Vosler up as the #8 hitter in a L-L matchup with the Cubs having no lefties in the pen. I think I’d have let him face Vosler too.

I think it’s amusing to watch the masses of fandom. Taillon gives up a 3rd run in 4 innings and there are a million tweets about how he should go and the Cubs should have gotten Bassitt, etc. Wesneski gives up 3 and the Cubs are behind and it’s the offense’s fault.

I've been watching the last couple of innings myself. That Santy has a helluva breaking ball. Left handed batters are bailing out on called strikes.
I was going to watch tomorrow afternoon's game with the Rangers but looks like it's going to be on Apple TV and not Marquee.☹ I was able to watch Apple games last year on my Roku stick but I think you actually have to have an Apple subscription this year.🤬

In all my years of watching baseball, I have never seen this.
A University of Indianapolis pitcher pitches a no-hitter and hits for the cycle, in the same game.
Something that would be comparable on the major league level was probably the Phillies Rick Wise no-hitting the Reds and hitting 2 HRs in the same game.

Yeah definitely kind of strange. I wonder if they will limit Seiya's time in RF when he comes off the IL, as that would make this move make a little more sense with how bad everyone has been in RF besides Wisdom (and he's earned every day starts at 3B). Also it seems NV doesn't have much left to prove at AAA
He sucks.
He is an error waiting to happen at 3B. He is a Punch and Judy hitter. He is slow. He is injury prone.
I don't have much of an opinion on him but I do appreciate a guy who isn't striking out all the time, had plenty of those. Hopefully Heuer makes up for whatever NM is lacking in that trade
