Spent the weekend at Innisbrook, which hosts one of the Florida PGA tour stops (Valspar Open). Very, very nice resort with some great tracks. They have 63 holes (was 72 but a couple of years ago they closed down one 9 & they're getting ready to develop it - not sure if it will be full-time residences or condos for use by visitors). They only use one course, Copperhead, for the tour event. It's the toughest of their courses, but in the times I've played there through the years I've always really thought the Island course is a better all-around course.
Tough course, unforgiving & much different than the courses I've grown accustomed to playing. Virtually every green is elevated from where you're hitting your approach shot, so shots in play anywhere from a half to two clubs longer. When you don't play those type of courses often, it's tough to make yourself commit to the shot...just tough to make yourself hit your "160 yard" iron when you're only 140 from the stick.
