Does anyone want a like new right handed 5-PW, Gap Mizuno 245 set. 5 and PW still have the plastic on the head. They have Nippon Pro Modus 3 105 stiff at 1 degree flat, standard length and Golf Pride Z Cord plus 2 wraps. Price is $825 shipped. New these are $1400

So the platform I have working at the past few years is going out of business. Curated was bought out by a platform called Flip and they are going to a drop ship model only and are getting rid of all of the human experts in their related sport. If you are needing any new gear with some great discounts let me know. I have the Mizuno JPX 925 irons marked down to $850 from $1050. Bettinardi putters marked down up to $100 off. Titleist clubs including Cameron's 15% off as well as AI Smoke, QI Taylor etc. We have almost all major brands with significant savings already added or the 15% off if they are still full price. Stock options only with no custom builds. Send me a DM if interested.

I don't really feel like the fall sports season is over until the NFL championship games are over and the Crosby/Pebble Beach is on.

The seasons have officially turned. And spring is hopefully only weeks away. Supposed to get up to 53 in the IC metroplex tomorrow. Might see if at the least an outdoor driving range is open. Quail Creek?

My favorite Pebble Beach factoid has to do with how small the greens there are….The first 12 greens are Pebble are less square feet than the 5/13 double green at St. Andrew’s “old course”…..
10 years ago when I was playing “the Old Course” I noticed all the greens were hand-mowed, walking…I was told each “greens-man” is given one hour and 45 minutes/green to mow and change pins…The Old Course contains 7 “double greens” and 4 single hole greens. The average green size at Pebble Beach is like 3400 square feet… at the Old Course, the average size is over 22000 square feet… the largest at St. Andrew’s is the 5/13 green almost 38000 square feet. That’s a BIG green! The day I played The Old Course, I got sideways on 15, got the ball on the green in regulation (and on the right half of the double green) and I had a putt of 40+ YDS… a smoothe “3 putt” and on to #16! Holes #1, #9, #17 and #18 are single hole greens.

I cannot believe how these guys are blowing it by the tree on #18 this week! Holy shit…20 to 40 yards past it!
For years. The tee ball there was difficult because players had to avoid being blocked by the tree after their tee ball… now unless there is a wind factor, the guys just blow it up the left side of the fairway and hit an iron into the green….Not very long ago, this just was not the way #18 at Pebble could be played. Balls, shafts and players sure have gotten stronger the last few years.

We still have an ok selection of irons and 15% off code of any remaining Cameron or T series irons. Drivers are thin as are wedges and fairway metals.

Question on club sizing for my son. 11 years old, roughly 5'-4" and growing fast. Average build.

I see the online "golden rule" for regular standard length men's clubs is roughly when you are 5'-8"?

I am a taller guy (6'-5") and I am pretty sure I used women's clubs into probably middle school and then switched to mens (have no idea what my height was when I switched)

I guess my question is, he's going to probably be 5'-8" or close to next summer so is it worth trying to get womens clubs or junior clubs for this this summer or just go straight to men's standard lengths?

I should also mention I am not trying to prep him for a career on the PGA tour, this is just to get him a decent set this year he can actually play with and hopefully grow with if possible. We've played a little over the last couple years with a hodge podge of junior & womens clubs (not as much as I woudl have liked), but really am going to try and get him on the course more this spring & summer.

What say you HBOT golfers?

I have been fitting for over 20 years. At 5'4" he will fit squarely into women's standard length currently. If you expect him to getting to 5'7"-5'8" buy spring/summer just get him a men's regular flex steel shaft set he can get a few years of use out of over the next few years before he needs to go custom as he passes 6'1". What are you looking to spend as the company I am working for is blowing out inventory as they are shutting down.

Club length for a golfer is determined more by how far off the ground are the fingers/ hand ( when standing) and not so much on how tall or short you are.

THIS spring/summer he'll be at the 5'-4" plus maybe an inch or so, but then summer 2026 he should be around the 5'-8" I would imagine.

So ultimately asking about this summer, it is worth trying to get him womens standard length or would him playing standard length mens shafts this summer at 5'-4" impede him too much or not? Standard womens vs mens is what 1" to 1.5" difference?

I would think worst case this summer, just choke down a touch if needed and just get the standard mens shafts right?

As far as price, not looking to spend a whole lot, simply because A) still not sure how much we will be able to play and B) still not sure if golf is going to be his cup of tea

Something in the middle between brain new high end set VS. old mix matched garage sale sets
