*****Official Iowa @ Michigan State Game Thread*****

Most teams starting at the 40 with 45 second left is plenty of time to get within field goal range. For some reason with Iowa it seems like an impossible task.

I think it's not so much impossible for Iowa as it is a lack of agressive will to achieve it.

Love. Wadley but sometimes I wish we were down to our 5th string back. Then we'd stop handing off with 9 in the box... think our playmaking RB will bust one eventually.

The Joe Moore Award is the Nobel Peace Prize of sports. The OL is getting manhandled and half the time they aren't blocking anyone at all.
Yeah, I don't think we'll be a nominee this year. Along w/punter=biggest deficiencies on the team

Our offense is just embarrassing. Poor blocking and even poorer play calling. Stanley can't hit the broad side of a barn if it was more than 10 yards down field.

The OL does seem to be sleepwalking but wonder how much of its failures are due to einstein's play calling from up top.

We desperately need to prioritize punt returning skills at least for next year. No other team begins every series with 90 yards to go.

Backers running through on every outside zone we need to be running inside. Run efficiency is terrible we can’t hit Home run every time we need to take what they give us.

Well, 2015. 12-0 isn't marginal.

There is big asterisk on the 12-0 season. Stanford blew us out of game in 1st quarter in bowl game and that MSU team we battled in B1G title game got blown out by Alabama. B1G is not a good football league--that is why KF is able average around 50% wins in B1G play and schedule some creampuff's in preseason and laugh all the way to the bank.

12-0 and we were barely Top 25 IMO. That team wasn't that good. Beat Wisc on the road, what else?
Nobody elite, but NW was in top 15 of BCS. Other teams won 7-8 games, Pitt, Nub, etc. And winning at WI is a pretty big deal. Too many discount the schedule.

This half was really on Stanley. There were enough calls and throws over 15 yds downfield that if he was even 50% there, (or even 33 or 25%?) it would have totally opened up the run and given us a ball game.

He's doing exactly what he's coached to do.
If our punt returner is coached to make fair catches at the 7 yard line, our coaches need to be SHOT! Not fired. No, no. SHOT! Firing is too merciful for something so football stupid.

Reference has SOS in the 50s. How many Power 5 teams are there? Our schedule was super weak in 2015. No doubt.

Now Doodle knows he's not a $5M coach....but what is the downside to throwing deep on the last play of the half? The half will end either with a punt or pass.......but only one of them gives you a chance to score (or maybe get an extra untimed down). Doodle has no stats to back this up....but risk of score from blocked punt/punt return has to be exponentially higher than 100-yard INT return....right??
