Sure, of course it could. I simply contend that this was one of the deadliest in the past 50 years, but it isn’t like these groups haven’t been trying and we KNOW that those instances were going on long before the Ukraine/Russia conflict started.

A big problem is that the old Democrats are just unbelievably conflict-averse. They don't want to directly go after their good friends and colleagues on the other side. They think that their legislative and executive branch machinations are the way to win over voters, hell, go look at Joe Biden's twitter/x feed, it's all platitudes and Bidenomics bullshit.

When they do try to appeal to voters they're trying to woo the white Ohio blue collar that doesn't exist any more or is unreachable via the appeals they're trying to make.

Republicans know how to appeal to and excite their own base and dominate the overall media environment. The current old people running the Democratic party don't even try.

The silence when it comes to Trump! Ugh, I could ramble all over the place all night when it comes to how badly the current Democrats handle politics and how that explains their current low public opinion numbers and inability to smash the MAGA monster.

In the end in 24 they'll probably get bailed out like they were in 22 by the abortion issue and Republican excesses, but it's probably gonna be too damn close and they probably won't deserve any credit for it. I'm gonna puke if they wait until they're 10 pts down in October 2024 and THEN they decide to go hard after Trump and the Republican party. The Republican party is a target rich environment right now.

It doesn't matter what legal claims Palestinians might have, Israel holds the land they want, and has the guns and tanks and fighter jets (and maybe even nuclear weapons) to hold onto it. You can waste generations of your people launching suicide attacks to get it back, but all that's going to get you, is more dead Palestinians, and not one square inch of land."
