Worried that we will lose power. Getting windy, ice on the power lines and our lights keep flickering.

Pissed rain for a few hours, and now that his freezing fast.
I’d rather it snow.

Been pouring rain here for a few hours now. Weather Channel shows us on the snow/rain line now for the whole storm. May not get any snow.

Looks like CR is mainly a snow event now. Weather.com is saying 5-8 of that thick heavy stuff.

I would be surprised if we got half that amount. The system would have to jog NW to do so yet keep us in the cold sector. NWS is still saying 2-4".

But, stranger things have occurred. So far this season, the CR NWS predictions for snow have all been lower than what we wound up getting.

Interesting...we got and are getting backside system snow in CR. Almost 5" on the deck, and it's coming down pretty good right now. Luckily it's the fairly fluffy colder stuff so it'll blow out easily.

About 4” of wet sloppy snow on top of a granular layer of sleet here in IC. If the sun makes an appearance today what remains should quickly disappear.

Checking in from Chicago — took the dog out this morning and it was up to my damned knee in places. We’ve probably added a couple more inches since then. It’s the most snow I’ve seen since the Snowmaggeon blizzard 10 years ago.

Yup. Chicago and the burbs got hammered. And it’s still snowing.

Your flight in and out of either Chicago airport isn’t happening today. Of course, the same thing could be said on a sunny day in June. 😉

Wow...I got 7 inches in the driveway. VERY wet, sloppy, hard to throw snow. There are NWS reports nearby of 6.5 and 7 so it ain't no drifting at play here either. This was MUCH more difficult to throw out than Monday's storm as well as that foot we got in late December.

Very surprising storm. Once again the NWS storm predictions come in low for CR this winter.

About a foot so far. Probably another 3 to 5 this afternoon.

Highly recommend the Ego battery operated snow blowers. They’re amazing.

Update:

It’s still snowing.

Time to change the thread title to polarvotexmagedon. It's going to get chilly there at the end of the weekend.

-15 Sunday morning. F that.
I thought we were going to sneak through this Winter without a polar vortex. Guess not.

We’ve got about 20” so far in Central NJ. Still snowing but not as hard. Will probably get somewhere around 22-24” total.
