We've tried multiple booties but 19 Pounds of Fury will not keep them on. The poor little thing will not like this one bit.

Mine refuses all footwear and clothes. The other dog is willing to wear booties but they don't stay on.

****ing hate the cold. I won't leave the house unless forced to do so. Working from home is amazing in winter.

Good weekend to not leave the house. The wings, Ruffles, and beer is ready for Sunday, so just about no reason to ever leave the house until Monday.

Forecast is beautiful, add in a blizzard warning with 40-45 mph gusts tomorrow, and a predicted low of double digits below 0 for 5 straight nights, and man, Iowa is just showing off....

This sucks.

5 straight nights? I see 8 straight here in CR. And that's only because the forecast ends after 10 days 😂

Pretty quick trigger on schools closing tomorrow. NWS must be fairly certain it'll rain for breakfast, then snow for for the early lunch, then freeze up things fast while tossing in a half derecho for dessert.

Yay.

Good. I'll be 3/3 in driving home during the worst parts of the last 3 storms

Same here, only I didn't work for one of the past two and don't work tomorrow - but had - & will have to - go pick up family from their job.

So, basically, wouldn't have had to worry about driving in this s*, but need to anyways. Yay me.

Ours waited until mid-morning to close at 1:00. Started blowing with 0 visibility around 12:15. Kids and buses stuck driving in it.

Looks like the snow will be out of Iowa city soon then the wind will pick up and the temperatures will drop. Trying to get everything cleaned out now before it turns rock solid for the next week or so.

Yep. Buses if they have snow chains - the drop down gizmos that activates at the press of a button...they spin throwing chains under the rear tires - can get through just about anything. Even without them, they get damn good traction. I took mine thru 2 foot drifts this week and ol' Betsy clawed right thru it nicely.

I'd be willing to bet we don't have school tomorrow too. It's a mess out there.

I can confirm that it is really f****** cold, and will remain so for at least another week.
There are going to be a lot of busted pipes, and assorted damage from this.
