Oh Beth!!!

She’s not gonna do shit

No one is pushing out the all-time winning coach until they’re ready

Just like Kirk, we at the mercy of Fran
The difference is the all time winningest football coach actually has a resume. Multi time conference champ, multi time coach of the year, etc. The all time winningest basketball coach only has years.

Barta made it hard with the idiotic extension for Fran a couple of years back. If Fran doesn’t leave at the end of this season, Beth needs to let him know that he won’t be returning for the 25-26 season

Normally I’d agree but when they’re only drawing 4000 fans or less for B1G games by the end of the year, that could be the end of it.

We'll probably be 10-10 in conference and winning record at Carver. Big10 games usually draw well. It is not like we are at Lickliter level p;athetic----this is solid, mediocre Basketball. Heck we could go 11-9 and make the NCAA tourney.

The big question is whether Fran is wanting to go on his own---then it becomes a buyout discussion with Fran wanting most of the money + his freedom to coach his boy Jack elsewhere at the next level. I think it makes sense to play hardball and not renew Fran's contract and save some money for the next guy. With Revenue sharing coming up, the Athletic Department is going to lose some of its revenue to players and they need to be more prudent on how the spend cash. I'm okay with keeping Fran another year...he will deliver Mediocre. That is his charm.

Letting any team in the Big Ten score 100 points is embarrassing but letting Wisconsin get 116 is honestly cause for firing. This is not solid, mediocre basketball.

The difference between Lick and Fran is that Lick wasn't going against sold out womens games

Iowa isn't going .500 in conference play. 9-11 at best.

I think you’re correct. I never thought her replacing Barta was an upgrade but no one agreed with me. I don’t think she will do Jack squat in the job I hope I’m wrong.

LOL - Then we can go out and find some hot commodity young coach like an S. Alford or a John Lickliter.

We have seen firsthand the grass is not always greener on the other side.
we're due after those strike outs
I think it was Todd, not john but most have blocked that era from memory so can't be 100% sure

They aren't going 10-10. Find me a road conference game they will win because I cannot. We know they aren't running the table at home. It'd be nice if Fran could field a team that was unbeatable at home because it'd make things a lot easier. NCAA Tournament should be the bare minimum expectation.

There are good and bad moments to Iowa basketball, but I think the Fran and family have run their course at Iowa. Can't be afraid of change because it will happen in the near future anyway. Iowa is at a level where it's more likely they will improve rather than get worse. As long as they find a coach that can recruit it will be an upgrade because the defense will show improvement, and most replacements will be better in-game coaches than Fran.

Just don't see 10 wins i conference even with the miracle against Northwestern. Think 7-13 is much closer to reality.

I don’t know what to say about Fran except that he definitely doesnt look like he cares much anymore. It would be stupid to fire Ferentz. Going 8-4 at Iowa is still a miracle. We could easily become Minnesota or Nebraska very quickly. You better have a home run hire in place before you make a move.

Firing Fran would be bad press headlines because Connor is Caitilin Clark's boyfriend
