Oh Beth!!!

I am sick of hearing about Caitlin Clark.

I said what I said
She was a historic figure for Iowa women's basketball, but I'm also tired of hearing about her every day. She is one individual in a big sports world, I've got CC fatigue. Retire her jersey and move on!
Take it back you sick Bastards! Caitlin Clark is not only an Iowa treasure, but a national treasure! Iowa is a women's basketball school and don't you forget it!!!

I hope to hear more about her.

Women's basketball is too slow for me to spend time on.

If the team wins, great. If they lose, great. I don't spend time worrying about the women's squad.

I like golf. I like fishing. I love Iowa wrestling, FB, and men's hoops. Win or lose, i watch every event. Alot of people do not. It's OK.
I was just ****ing with you. I will say this however. The U has received more indirect publicity through Clark over the past few years than probably all the other other programs combined over the past maybe 25 years, and that's a fact.

This will honestly be the 2nd easiest decision she makes,,,BF being the easiest.
Oh, please. Hold your breath on this!
LOL - Then we can go out and find some hot commodity young coach like an S. Alford or a John Lickliter.

We have seen firsthand the grass is not always greener on the other side.
Hell yeah! Let's get the latest COY and enjoy the newest taste of the month!

LOL.. 53,000 fans were still sitting in Kinnick in 1978 when Iowa was in the midst of a 17th consecutive non-winning season where they finished 2-9. I think Iowa fans will fill Kinnick regardless of the head coach.
I was there too and there were games where attendance was less than that. Fans are a lot more whiny and bitchy now compared to back then and all the games are on TV now, rarely did the Hawks get on TV back then. Don’t take the sellouts for granted, if the wrong hire is made after Kirk retires attendance could slip pretty quickly.

The fans are very loyal, but that was 40 years ago, before the internet, video games, and cable TV with most of the games available to see on the tube. Not to mention the prices for the game day experience and the fact that there are many more off-season sports programs that parents have to watch their kids play on Sat. The options for a person's weekend time are at an all-time high. Stay competitive or things can go south in a hurry.

You are fogetting that Football games are a big social events/excuse to party and There are no pro teams to compete for eyeballs. Iowa Football attendence would be down, but will still stay high for many years even with a lessor product. As it stands now with 2 built in wins at home from FCS schools that are scheduled to be sacrifices, Iowa can be a below average B1G team and still put up 6-6 or better seasons. Money wise for NIL and REvenue sharing, Iowa is better off than a lot of B1G teams like Rutgers and UCLA/USC that do have more eyeball competition.

Women’s basketball is a lightening bolt compared to fishing and golf

FIFY

To each their own. Fishing has drawn huge viewership numbers
You're right.

To each their own.
You watch women's basketball. I do not watch it.

Life will go on.

Fran is trying to better his roster by bringing in more athletic players. Let's see if he can make defense a better priority.

We'll probably be 10-10 in conference and winning record at Carver. Big10 games usually draw well. It is not like we are at Lickliter level p;athetic----this is solid, mediocre Basketball. Heck we could go 11-9 and make the NCAA tourney.

The big question is whether Fran is wanting to go on his own---then it becomes a buyout discussion with Fran wanting most of the money + his freedom to coach his boy Jack elsewhere at the next level. I think it makes sense to play hardball and not renew Fran's contract and save some money for the next guy. With Revenue sharing coming up, the Athletic Department is going to lose some of its revenue to players and they need to be more prudent on how the spend cash. I'm okay with keeping Fran another year...he will deliver Mediocre. That is his charm.
True. I mean we are tied for 6th right now. Will we stay there? Kind of doubt it but you never know.

I tend to agree. I guess I am looking at the NB game as a one off and will wait until they prove they are a decent team on the floor in multiple games. If I remember correctly PA Sandfort goes off a couple times a year in the past and then not so much.
