Couldn't have said it better. We currently have the 15th ranked class and the Debbie Downers don't like the fact that we weren't the first to offer Oliver. If we had offered Oliver early and gotten a commit, they would be pissing and moaning that we didn't go after bigger fish. Interesting note, Buckley wasn't offered first by A&M but committed as soon as they did. Why, because it was his dream school. I'm starting to wonder if Iowa was Oliver's dream school. Only time will tell.Probably the same reason others didn't offer before Iowa - schools weren't convinced at that time yet. But then he started camping and offers started coming in. Does Iowa now probably wished they offered earlier? Probably yes, but it's an inexact science and hindsight is 20/20. I think the positive Hawkeye fans get tired of "fans" who nitpick on everything the Hawkeye staff does that doesn't work out in our favor.
Same with the 2018 DT from Neb. Camped at Neb, left with no offer. Camped at Iowa, left with offer. Goes home and gets nebby offer later which is his dream school and commits.Couldn't have said it better. No way coach Shaw comes into KF backyard and makes an offer to much respect between these two
AMEN, brotha, amen! This thread makes you love the internet and human behavior. For the past few months we (Iowa fans) were mostly thinking Martin would be a nice get. Now the sky is falling because Martin had a nice performance and all of a sudden those same fans are losing sleep at the idea of Martin going to a school other than Iowa.
If Martin comes to Iowa ... great ... If he goes elsewhere ... good for him. It's his choice. It's his talents ... It's his future. Iowa football existed before him; will exist after him, and in the end - Martin needs to do what is best for him.
I talked to a buddy who knows one of the IC West coaches this morn. So this is second hand knowledge to be clear. What he said was pretty interesting. According to him Martin wants to go to Stanford?!? I hadn't heard that bf. Stanford is his #1 choice. Why? he didn't know. Iowa is his solid # 2. He's not going to MSU, UM, Becky etc. It's Stanford OR Iowa. He is holding out waiting for an offer fully aware if probably wont come. He must have the grades i'm guessing? But that is what the hold up is. I say he'll be a Hawk.
FWIW
Martin will be a MI ST rb
Truly HAVE NOT SEEN THE BALL SINCE THE KICKOFF.......................................Martin will be a MI ST rb
He probably got the fourth star because Michigan offered him.![]()
if you visit the Michigan board the local theorists will convince you he can only drop in the rankings if he commits to Michigan

Could tie in to his sister and swimming.Just speculation like everybody else.Sounds like Tim Dwight to me, although he passed up Stanford to stay and his High School was way better
