Thanks I didn't get a chance to see that and didn't realize it. It's nice of folks in Western Iowa and/or Omaha to keep us informed.
I'm not sure that makes it a rivalry, it's just literally their last game of the year. Don't think any 5-7 teams will make a bowl this season.
Insert team with losing record and going into final game the media will say, “this is their bowl game.”
Iowa wins on Friday, it was obviously their “super bowl”. Nebraska wins on Friday, It’s just a W to cap a crappy season. Additionally, if Nebraska wins they finish ahead of Iowa in the B1G standings yet again.

Its always important to beat Nebraska and it will be a good day Friday if we do.
Yeah, not a lot of excitement involved in this game this weekend for obvious reasons. Think Iowa is trending up though even after the last two weeks. We have a lot of young players in big positions. I had us at 7 wins before the year with the talent, youth, and schedule into consideration.
Nebraska is in a tough spot. If they take Frost and it doesn't go well, where do they go from there? They have already set a bad precedent in the coaching circle by having a super quick hook; makes the job even more unattractive.

It will always mean more to Iowa until either Iowa takes over the series lead or Nebraska has 5 seasons in a row like this one. It’s not worth arguing about, all the statistics are on my side.
Okay? You see how that comes off as arrogant, right? It's also hard to argue when so many of your fans are always on our board. Maybe ours are over on yours, I don't know.
Honestly, I'm assuming our fans are more concerned with Ohio St., Penn St., and Wisconsin. Maybe it's just me. I'm sure you were worried about others as well. Our team, as clearly instructed by KF, takes every game one week at a time. Super bowl, not close. Especially now that we know we don't have an offense and you don't have a defense. Just two mediocre teams this year.
One team is trying to get back to the top and one team is trying to get there for the first time. Everyone likes to beat up on a team that is or was a blue blood and is going through a down cycle. Nebraska may never get back and Iowa may never make it, but until something changes the series is lopsided in Nebraska’s favor. Simple as that and arrogance has nothing to do with it.

They can't help it, they think they are entitled to platinum status the rest of their lives due to steroids, prop 8, 100 schollies, a very good walk on program, and a weak Big 8 conference that came down to them or OU then late to the table at the end, Colorado.
Any fan base that holds up a sign during a game with Colorado that says "Sal who?" with an administration that allows it to be held up during the game deserves what they are currently going through and I hope the losing continues until you are viewed as nothing more than bottom dweller in the B1G. One team has been to the top in modern football era - Nebraska-fact. One team has not-Iowa- fact. One team is\was a blue blood - fact. You look and act like little bros by arguing.
Iowa has won 3 out of the last 4 vs. Nebby (that's a fact), and about to make it 4 out of 5. I'm much more concerned about RECENT history vs opponents. 40 - 10 in Iowa's favor vs. Nebby in the most RECENT game...that's another fact for you.

Why would I care which team won 10, 20, 30 years ago? I live in the here & now. Comparing Iowa and Nebraska rosters, it looks like the Hawks have a good chance to win this series in the foreseeable future.
How is playing in a national championship game 20 years ago relevant to the Nebraska program of today? It doesn't appear to have had any positive impact(s) as Nebraska is apparently once again looking for a new head coach, after another below average season.
