Lack of defense had a lot to do with it but your point is well taken. Can a guy who made two threes all year and scored a goose egg vs SLU go 8/9 from three. He'll never sniff making half that in a game the rest of the year.
I'm not a bb guy by any means, love to watch Hawk bb, even I know with my limited knowledge you can't leave the hot shooters open over and over! WthTake a timeout and find a volunteer to guard the guy. It’s impossible to understand how anyone could have that many uncontested shots after he made two.
It's not coincidence that so-so players have break out nights against Iowa.
Indeed. We are in about the same position we were in last year at this time — the worst defensive team in the league and by a pretty wide margin. The heck of it is that we don’t have freshman to blame. I just don’t see a lot of room for growth here

To win the B1G, you gotta play defense. Wisconsin is excellent. Rutgers is very good. IU, Illinois, Michigan and MSU all have a greater potential to improve than Iowa.
Most high major players can make shots when unguarded. This wasn’t some sort of flukey bad luck. This was piss poor defense.
Nunge and Connor McCaffery are left open at the 3pt line every game and neither guy has gone off so far this season.
