That 12-0 drubbing took place during a charity tournament. The women's team was compiled of retired players (there wasn't a single active world team member on the roster) and they played against a pro men's club, Wrexham. That club team was owned by Ryan Reynolds, which had a mix of active and retired players.
The national team did lose to a U-15 team, FC Dallas, 5-2, back in 2017 or so.
That national team was also prepping for Russia and wanted to find a club to train against to help simulate Russia's speed. They used it as a prep game for defensive scheming and building chemistry. Largely similar to MLB spring training.
