Other games.

Hawks still alive for the 4-seed in the BTT (meaning a double-bye), even if - as expected - lose @ Indiana on Tuesday night;

But we need to be huge Penn St and Ohio St fans to make it happen. As well as needing the Huskers to pull one last rabbit out of their hat this season.

[and, obviously, Hawks need to beat Nebraska in Carver on 3/5]

Maryland needs to lose both of its last 2 games [@ Ohio St on 3/1 and @ Penn St on 3/5]
Rutgers needs to lose one of their last 3 games [@ PSU tonight, @ Minnesota on 3/2 or vs N'western on 3/5]
Michigan St needs to lose @ Nebraska on Tuesday night [or vs Ohio St on 3/4].

And if Iowa defies all current expectations and steals a win in Bloomington, they could jump all the way up to the #2 seed - if Maryland loses one of its last two.

Only 9 minutes in to the game, but I'm liking the chances of one of the necessary dominoes falling already tonight.

PSU up 14-5 on Rutgers.

EDIT: Penn St blowing RU's doors off right now. 23-7.

If this RU/PSU game didn't directly affect Iowa (possibly), I would have loved that finish.

Great basketball.

But it does. And its suuuuucks!

Hawk fans need to be grateful we haven't been on the losing end of one of these total collapses. No baskets for almost a quarter of the game to finish.

I would imagine that ISU fans once had dreams - back in early to mid-January - of playing in DSM and then Kansas City on their run to the F4 in Houston next month .....

Sparty better be careful. They just might be 9-9 in the B1G after tonight.
Have to give Hoiberg credit. With that roster to have won as many B1G games as they have. Didn't think it was possible.
After seeing Nebraska early on in the season I am shocked they have 8 wins. Even after blowing out the Hawks in Lincoln they were fairly unimpressive for a stretch.

I mean, Hoiberg and Tominaga in the backcourt? They look like two guys recruited from the rec league. Tominaga has been getting after it lately though.
Last year, and at the beginning of this year he seemed more like a team good luck charm. He's been productive for them.

Here's what we are looking at now, folks;

Hawks beat Nebraska Sunday

Maryland loses at least one of its final 2 road games [@OSU or @PSU]

Rutgers beats Northwestern on its 'Senior Night' @ Jersey Mike's this weekend

Iowa will join its sisterly brethren in their respective BTT, as the 2-seed

Villanova chose to foul Seton Hall while up 3 in the final seconds to avoid a game-tying shot.

I feel like the team being fouled should get the option to decline free throws and inbound instead.

What a difference a couple hours makes.

Before the Iowa game tonight, I was SURE that we would absolutely need Nebraska to beat MSU for the Hawks to have any chance at the 4-seed in Chicago.

Two hours later?
